Epic update for MEKO!! I think you should leave the spring perches exactly where they are in that picture you posted. Can't wait to see how this looks. btw, you're gonna need some wheel spacers if you don't have them already. As soon as you lower it, the natural camber is going to make the stockies sink in.

Thanks John
If install it as it is on the picture. It's slammed right?
I was watching this
I am going to install the camber kit at the same time
After the drop will see what spacer I am going to need.. I don't want spacers but..

Meko, thats how you would lower a car if your suspension has preload adjustment or a threaded body (like the ISC N1's)....
the Tein SS/SA/Basic or whatever coils do not have the preload adjustment....so you will not have a lower ring like the one in the video....
the way you lower these coils is you loosen the lower ring, and take it down the where you want them to be, and turn the upper ring to bring it down the the lower ring and tighten it there....
this might help:
go to 3:22 and 5:40

Congrats on the coils MEKO
Good luck with the install! Don't rush anything and measure ground to fender on each corner before saying it's done. I'm veddy excite to see the car afterwards

Ohh now I got it wow so easy to adjut them one day 4x4, one day slammed :P
Thanks for the video Anil.
So top ring is to lower the car or higher...bottom one is to lock it? Am I right?
Not lowering makes the spring compress though right? Wouldn't that change the ride?
One stiff, one soft?
---
Thanks Tyler
Ground to fender should be same on each corner?
Some people have front lower
Thanks for the video Anil.

Cause I was messing around with my own coilovers and then I compressed the springs and lowered the coils. Then realized 'oh shit... now how do I know if the front matches the rear?'
Annnnnnd now I'm doomed.

I am confused again...
If I leave the spring perch at the bottom, as it is on the picture and also 3:33 on video swoosh posted... isn't that slammed?
Which also makes springs relaxed..
If I move the spring perch UP (as I understood, car goes 4x4)
and it will also compress the springs right?

Doesn't matter, it's the spring rate that determines stiffness, not necessarily compression. Because whether the spring is touching tophat or not when unloaded, it WILL be touching when loaded.
While installing, make sure to unload the bushings like wacker mentioned (in the 3G wheel/tire area).
Meko, not sure how slammed you're looking to start off...they say to leave it 1" from bottom ring measured to bottom of the shock body, IMO, start off with a 1/2". That'll give you a great stance and is a good starting point to determine how much higher or lower you want to go. I, for instance, have to raise the rear about 1/8 of an inch from wherever the front is set to accommodate the extra weight of a sub.

agree with Jeremy...leave 1/2 inch from the bottom perch and go from there....you will be tucking very little tire instantly
and its 2 rings....if you want to lower your car, measure the distance from the bottom, take the lower (locking ring) and move it to that height....once the lower ring is where you would like it to be, use the wrench that the coils come with and move the upper ring towards the lower ring....this will lower the height....
to move the coils up, move the upper ring (coil ring) upwards using the wrench...when you are at the height you want to be, move the lower (locking ring) upwards, towards the coil ring....
in either case, make sure you tighten the 2 rings hence "locking" it in place....
i might make a video for you when i get home....
EDIT: now I kinda disagree with Jeremy on spring compression not determining the stiffness...spring travel or preload is another concept here (Teins do not have a preload capability) but with the ISC N1's I can compress the spring (preload it) to reduce spring travel....this will make the ride very very harsh....but at the same time, will take corners like a champ !!! I have set the preload to 8" (spring height is usually at 9")....I might try going to 7 inches but because of the weight of the car and spring rate, I will be riding 4x4, MEKO style

I have to look what that unloading bushing is... No idea
1/2" looks like 2 thread right?
Thinking of starting off from exatcly like this
I feel like just slaming it like John said..instead of wasting time with adjusting
Yeah that page has like everything

You kno what I got done today

Friday: Tint... done
Bring it on Saturday !!!!
I am happy with the tint soooooooooo much
I went to the best place that I know off
Lifetime warranty blah blah I don't care about those but I care about tintint all the way to the edges.
Tricky part on TL as I usually see on some TLs in here is the rear small side window. They allways miss that edge and looks ugly as hell...
Look at mine
+
I looked at my 2006 pictures, when dad got tint for the car. They didn't tint the brake light are in the back window.
Look at it now
------------
dad took the TL
becauseeeeeeeeeeee
tomorrow at 1, we getting tint for the bros GTI and front windows of FX
after that...compliance bushing, camber kit, coil install
-----------
For the speakers... I decided to take an easy road
Keep the sub since hard to replace it...usually want new amp
I will only replace the speakers with Kenwood Excelon KFC-X1730
It's raining since couple days
and will rain until monday
What a nice long weekend
Car is soooooo dirty inside and out....let me first finish the car, very very detail cleaning and painting blah blah will come too

Update
Friday:
Tits on TL
Saturday:
Tint for FX and GTI
Coils installed
-Rear: Bottom of the lock sits on the 3rd thread
-Front: Bottom of the lock sits on the 5th thread
-Results: A little bit lower than the tire
Front compliance bushings
Redline 5th drain and refill
Camber for rear? No
Will buy new bolts and then replace it. Bolts didn't come out
Sunday:
Washed the car
Seats are still out. Waiting for speakers, and waiting for weather to get good for detail cleaning. Raining since 2 days. Thank it kind of stopped today but cold outside.
---------------------
Thanks to Jeremy, John and Austin.
While the coil is on slammed thread (bottom), spring was loose after installing the hats. I wasn't sure if it supposed to be like that..
Austin wasn't sure.
John showed me the way, but wanted me to confirm with J. since he has Teins
Jeremy did confirm
by saying it's normal. Just have to keep the spring centered and lower slowly.
Relaxing bushings... by Wacker
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...hlight=bushing
I thought, we loosen the bolts, lower the car, lift the car, tighten the bolt.
J. corrected that..
Jack up, remove wheel, put two by fours stacked up under hub or rotor, lower back down, loosen, retighten all bolts.
:bov: Thanks guys
------------
That was me after taking the car off the lift
I am such an idiot waited for soooo long for this.
Feeling of being low, sitting low, even walking around lowered car just feels good haha.
Love how the stockies look. But I know will get bored and to fall in love again, will buy rims next
Ride is great, corners are stiff, AND no more vibration at highspeed anymore
It as because of the bushing, I am guessing. Latetly I started to have vibration on the wheel but I was guessing it's the rims.
at the same time saying to myself, I didn't scratch the rims but why did the vibration got higher..
I dunno may be it was the suspension...they were almost dead as I said long time ago
I am happy
but!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anil, why you no tell me Teins are heavier then stock suspension
That made me sad but oh well
Will report exact difference for rears tonight
I guess that's all
--------------------
Now my way...pictures
First moments
The way she sits on the road is just amazing now
I think I am the only person who scratched stock J-Pipe with 4x4 TL
I burned it bad again Slowing down from now on and leaving the gear at D
My baby
------------
Now it's time for details
Bumper
RDX caliper covers
Cleaning
I was about to order M3 style roof spoiler couple days ago, but after seeing the car with tint, and lowered (which made the car flow much better, front to rear) I've decided not to buy it
and
No force in da world could take that wing off
Bye Jeremy

Same here
I remembered that Austin had 2 thread in the front and rear is slammed...to make the car sit straight.
That's why I did 3 for rear, 5 for front. Came out to 24.5"
You guys say springs settles too and camber kit changes and stuff.. so not sure what will happen after installing the camber kit but will keep each side on 24" or 24.5"
Who said typo
Thanks Tyler
So when is the next meeting Why no Aaron create an event

I'm not sure when the next Mid-Atlantic meet is but there's a meet in Charlotte this Saturday. I'll ask Aaron if he's planning on setting something up.
Drive the car for a day or so and remeasure your fenders in case anything changed, then get an alignment. It might be a good idea to remeasure after the alignment as well but I didn't. Maybe I should
Don't you have new wheels on the way?

To be honest after the coils, car just didn't feel planted as before.
I mean, it's stiff ok but, if one tire went from a bump, car felt like not in control.
Might be becaue of new springs, because of bushings just installed, and car doesn't have allignment.
After I've evened them out today, it feels better, but may be because I've put more miles on the springs and bushings
Happy with it
I always use the sunroof... but when I open my sunroof now, it pops my ears
Dunno why or how

If you are asking if rear springs were centered or not, like sitting on the previous springs spot...yes and centered
Front, no need to since there is a spacer there
100% agree. Not only spoiler, A-Spec, and bodylines of the car.. stands out more and better now
J. should I get allignment?
Is it possible to get good allignment to rear with stock toe arm with this low??
Me no hear good news about ingalls by Wacker

I really loved this height.
Lower than Tein Springssssssssss at least

Have you installed these Teins before? You don't need to compress for Basics.
Bolt goes and stops at one point, can't screw more
Not sure about the other ones
Front has a plate (spacer) the top of the spring sits on. No matter how many times you turn the spring, it won't be out of it's place. Just keep it inside the tophat while installing.
Rears? No spacer on top, so have to make the spring sit on it's previous sloth, and also keep it inside the tophat
