il put some pics of mine up, i have 20s on stockies and waiting for the HT-spec coilovers to come out. it isnt too bad, i dont worry about scraping the front on my driveway anymore
and if you got the aspec underbody kit on, it makes the car look 100x better than without it with 20s...otherwise it looks like a 4x4

Speaking from experience with 20s, don't do it. Do 18s or 19s and slam it

Oh I get into this every time someone says 20s boo. ..... I mean.... I get it having 20's or DUBS or DUECE's or whatever anyone else calls it IS kinda ghey.
But you do realize that the only difference between 19's & 20's is HALF an inch around right? Seems kinda minimal to me to save $$$ on 20" tires versus 19" tires.(yes 19s are getting more popular but they are still considered a specialty tire)
PLUS, you dont have to SLAM it (the car) to get a good look, just pair it up with the right wheels+tires & it will look great IMO. Even "good" In the eyes of the good folk at Acura
Sooo how do you get 20's to look right?
HERE IS THE KEY: OFFSET!!!!!
Get some 20s & pre-fit them, then decide if you need to add spacers & make sure the fitment fits your style. Add some meat (thicker tires in the rear to fill the gap)
MY STYLE: A good set of wheels that sit semi flush (not too crazy though) & wont rub or bottom out when turning. PLUS NEVER EVER GET CHEAP ECONOMY WHEELS THAT LOOK ALL BLINGED OUT & LOOK BETTER ON A CADILLAC!
these are my wheels WITHOUT A DROP (not even aspec suspension.... just plain 3rd GEN TL BASE suspension)
^black TL on far left has 19's & no drop. My silver TL has 20's & no drop. You have to look close, notice the difference in wheel gap on the 19's , the 20's fill the gap better. Then notice the other black TL on the right, he is dropped 1" all around & it still doesnt look too low compared tho the stock suspension.
So, does the sport modding world looks down on anything bigger than 19? Look at the GTR, 20's come stock. Even our own 3rd GEN TL was originally designed & UNVEILED with 21" inch OEM WHEELS
So OK these wheels may not be your style.....
But really? Hating over half an inch? SOUNDS SILLY TO ME.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't HATE them, I absolutely loved my 20" RJs. They were hawt to say the least. I didn't like how the car was raised up a bit when the wheels were on there. I noticed a decrease in gas milage as well.
I think 20s look fine on the TL, but only when the car is dropped.

the ride quality on 20's , 20's means thinner tires = easier to bend, scratch, and f up. Rubbing Galor!! turning is a hassle!! the heavier wheels makes the car seem heavier, slower, less responsive on throttle. You may need to roll the fenders in the rear.
Tl's look good with a staggered setup, 19x 8in the front 20 x 10" deep dish in the back, the bad thing is that you'll never be able to rotate wheels, and you'll spend more on tires. But the look is sexy none the less, and you'll save money since you're not getting a full set of 20"s.
20" in the front looks, the front of the TL def does not look good with 20"s, but since she got a nice arse, 20" will do wonders for the look of the rear.

But now the ride.....
I actually have 35 series tires on my 20's. The same as everyone else with 19" tires. So the ride quality is the same. Trust me, I just took my off to ship to UpandComing and put n some loaner 19s from another member until my new 20's come in. Can you believe I rub with the 19's & not with the 20's!
OFFSET PEOPLE! OFFSET OFFSET OFFSET!... LOL
Oh yeah & about the weight, obviously bigger wheels will be heavier, but not by much if you get "a quality lightweight-medium weight wheel". Most cheap 19's are heavier than my 20's. My 20's (rim only) weighed in at 23lbs. Not too different from stock.

just as an fyi, i have 245/35 tires on my 20s as well, and it DID start to rub the rear aspec lip where it attaches to the hanger in the wheel well. its not really a big deal, just got to see where it rubs. what i did was:
1) Put tape on the aspec lip corner in the wheel well area
2) get the tires to rub, usually going up a driveway will do the trick
3) See where it rubs. mine were deff rubbing the top screw so i removed that and repeated the taping.
4) Find area and cut, repeat steps until no rubbing.
5) get someone, or two people, to sit in the back and repeat the steps.
This was driving me insane but id rather have a bit beefier tires for protections than thinner ones. about to go on a drop finally so just taking precautions, already got my rear fenders rolled.
