'Cause, not only are you in the pic of your car, it almost looks like you are in your avatar, and you call yourself "Mr. Connecticut". I'm as straight as they come, but morbid curiousity presents its ugly head here for many.

BTW, nice drop, but a tad bit low for my taste. I have S-Tech springs, and my wife hates driving my car because "it's too low". Although, I do fully appreciate your color choice.

LOL you're the one that posted a pic of your self in the car. its the internet. we will call out everything.
stop getting pissy, soon your car and pic will be all overs the interwebs. all thanks to azine.

there's a thread started with members posting pictures of themselves.. anyone wants to check me out or make comments about me go to that thread.. this one is about the car.. keep it on topic

Red Voodoo 08-17-2010 12:25 AM

Perhaps showcasing your car with moar photos might help this situation? No offense, but a single shot of your car with a simple drop isn't much to talk about. Your car looks great. Just go along with the ribbing. It shows that you have a sense of humor. Every one of us needs a laugh from time to time, right?

Walshstl 08-17-2010 12:58 AM

Dude... usually (as in almost always) when guys post pics of their car, they dont try to stick their face in there to get some air time. You had to actually go find someone to take the pic for you. You got ur face in the only pic u posted, in your avatar, and in the "what we look like" thread. And you got a little over 100 post so you're obviously not a regular on this forum. This is like wat girls do to get attention. Dont you think thats a little :ghey:? We're just saying it as see it, suck it up

Yeah, but you are IN THE CAR, sir. please take more pictures of the car and not you. everyone's :2cents:.

oh btw, im not feeling the drop. that hoe is slammed. It negates all the performance factors.

+1, it's kinda narcissistic IMO. I dont think anyone is checking you out, it just kinda shows you want people to know who's driving that nice looking TL (and trust me, no one really cares who you are). You can go to facebook and show off you face, you can come here to show off your car.

why would you come to a car thread and post a pic of yourself for an avatar? I mean, theres tones of avatar's on azine that have nothing to do with cars, but a pic off your self shows your vanity:ghey:. :2cents:

PLUS, when the photochoppers get a hold of your face, THEY NEVER GIVE IT BACK:what:, they'll chop your face on anything!!!

the name alone "mr.connecticut" makes you sound like you came from a ghey beauty pagaent.:tomato:

anyway the ride is nice, keep it up.

CLtotheTL32 08-17-2010 07:50 AM

Drop looks good. I can't wait to get a set of coilovers.

LOL at the rest of the thread.

thats true, especially if you live up north, these streets suck. i hope you don't plan to keep it slammed for the winter, I know some ppl who keep their whips slammed all year long:tomato:the streets are never forgiving.

sorry OP, but i agree...

way too low imo...those wheel wells are flaring out something fierce. it just doesn't look natural. doesn't look comfortable to drive either.

raise it up a notch or 2, n do us all a favor n stop being a prick.

4211marvin 08-17-2010 08:17 AM

how low did you drop it?

Kro 08-17-2010 08:37 AM

i really dont think he's being a prick here guys. this thread has turned pretty ridiculous. so what if the guy posed in his car and there's only one pic of his drop. i'll take a little vanity over the 3rd grade writing skills half the other 3G threads rock. which no one says shit about.

6spdtl-s 08-17-2010 08:45 AM

lol wow, you guys ate him up. I didnt think it was a big deal, not enough to comment about.

anyway, drop looks good. you'll need at LEAST a 10-15mm spacer all around to make the wheels look right. Im sure theyre sunken in the wheel wells a bit at that ride height. I was dropped pretty low on tl-s rims as well and it just doesnt look right without spacers. post up some angled shots and dont worry about the negative comments you get, the car looks good.

Bayam0n 08-17-2010 09:02 AM

A lil freshman hazing never hurt anyone:tomato:

but I agree, it's really not a big deal when you think about it. OP, in all seriousness your car looks good. Are you going to work on any performance mods? or are you just sticking to aesthetics?

right, because the tl is a performance vehicle.

07tl-s6spd 08-17-2010 03:54 PM

^^not a tl...a tl-s...lmao

I never said it was a performance vehicle. Being slammed negates all the aspects that the Honda/Acura engineers designed the car for.
I can tell you that my car is pretty fun in the twisties. if I was slammed, I couldnt have as much fun in the curves as I am now.

my car puts down the same wheel horse power as the automatic type-s btw.

Off topic... I know. But, +1... :toocool:

6spdtl-s 08-17-2010 04:05 PM

TL isnt VIP either but people seem to think that they can make it so.

mrconnecticut 08-17-2010 04:34 PM

my car rides the same as it did before i dropped it if not even better.. the only diff is i coulda hit pot holes before i dropped it and not worry about bottoming out but either way i was always avoiding pot holes. and my car is getting stored in the winter and if i decide to take it out in the winter i can adjust it to maker it higher

justnspace 08-17-2010 06:23 PM

Thats what i'm talking about, it takes away the driving dynamics.
also, you have to watch driveways, dips, curves...basically anything in the road that is not drop friendly.

I understand that you bought coilovers, and is adjustable. but why not set it at a decent height from the get go?
and did you do the install? I just did a coilover install this weekend. we slammed the fuck outta a honda accord. he was too low, and we had to go back and basically re-do the work in order to adjust.
that wasnt fun.

THis is a good read...from the infamous I hate cars:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-tires-wheels-suspension-97/those-have-lowered-tl-tech-article-lowering-786979/

in that thread he talks about the negative performance issues.

CLtotheTL32 08-17-2010 08:30 PM

Different strokes for different folks

We shouldn't be telling him what and what not to do with his TL. It's his decision. No one else's.

ILLustriousUA6 08-18-2010 12:41 AM

drop looks good.

not slammed tho

Walshstl 08-18-2010 12:58 AM

yeah thats not slammed enough to effect performance negatively... wtf? Lol, if anything it will handle much better on the twisties. Only time you'll have problems is if your running bigger wheels/tires and rub. Furthermore, he has tein SS, with damper. So I can assure you his car handles a lot better than stock. The car looks nice.

it's a public forum. We're not writing essays here... I'll tell you wat's annoying.. grammar police. It's like the retard kid in class who tries to answer every question cuz he thinks he knows everything. Stfu already :whyme:

Nothing on this thread is a big deal, but if you give me something to comment about, Im not gonna use critical analysis to see whether this is good enough to comment on... beats talking about cons of running reg fuel and other stupid topics this forum gets flooded with.
