New Year... New Mods (sort of).

I know we're getting into the second week of January already, but I just wanted to wish all you AZ members a belated Happy New Year!

As the title of my thread states... I got some new mods done. I really thought I was done modding my car after putting the A-Spec kit on and the quad exhaust, but something still felt missing. I told myself I wouldn't spend anymore money on my car, but I eventually caved in.

So... here's what happened...

I finally got my hands on a pair of headlights from JNC. I know I didn't really want to mess with the headlights before because of DOT laws here and stuff, but the laws only pertain to cleared headlights. As long as I left the amber diffusers in, it's all good.

The sound system needed a serious upgrade. I picked up a Pioneer AVIC-X930BT head unit, JL 10w3 sub in a custom ported enclosure made by uncald4 paired with a JL XD600/1 amp, Hybrid Audio Imagine and Mirus coaxials and a custom Rockford Fosgate amp for the coaxials also made by uncald4. I'm a total zero when it comes to audio installation so I had a friend of a friend install everything for me. He was also able to take care of the little cutouts in the trim on either side of the radio left by the factory radio's knobs. The system sounds AWESOME.

I also added those window deflector things and Type-S rear side markers... but those don't really count as "mods" lol. I guess they're just factory upgrades?

Anyways, that's all!

Yes, yes! Definitely worth it to patch up the cut outs. Makes everything look a lot cleaner!

Congrats on the upgrades. Any plans on getting 07-08 side mirrors? I think they would look good on your car.

Your car totally craps on mine, man! Sick mods you've got there. Anyways, would the 07-08 mirrors be fully functional? Like all the wiring would be the same so the mirror tilt in reverse still works and all that? Would it also be possible to wire up the turn signals to work as well?

Haha, no secret. The factory deck is a double din, so just replace it with another double din deck.

Wow, sorry for taking so long to reply. Haha... I haven't really been on AZ that much lately. But no, my installer didn't use fiberglass. He used pieces of ABS plastic and body filler. Sanded, primered, and painted.

Oh my god those headlights. By far my favorite way to black them out- leaving the diffusers in. Looks so classy.

Right??? Haha... I wasn't going for the aftermarket look and wanted it to look as stock as possible. Jnc suggested I leave that chrome strip on the amber as is instead of painting it black like some of the other lights he's done. Glad I took his advice... looks good on a silver car. Thanks, man!

Love the headlights too.

I had mine blacked out by JNC and I wanted to keep the amber in as well. I wanted the Type-S look so I had my diffusor cut short instead of going all the way through. Honestly I don't know which I like better, yours or mines. Hm.

Yours eliminates the need for pricey switchback LEDs though so maybe you're the winner. haha

Nah, man... the Type-S look is awesome. I was thinking about it, but you're right about the LEDs. That's the only reason why I didn't go for the Type-S version. I didn't want to mess with the wiring and relays and all that.

Has a Viper Alarm System and accord fogs but doesn't want to get a shunt resistor swapped out of the relay for a .24ohm resistor

I find the thing that most people would say about the Type-S diffuser is that they're pretty rare to find, not because they have to swap to LEDs =P

Yes, the top is just blank aside from the A/C info. I don't mind, though.

The enclosure was about $400 if I remember correctly.

Haha, well... the alarm and fogs were all done by someone else. I'm a total zero when it comes to electrical, unless it's just plug and play.
