Thanks Ramrod! Believe it or not, I think it's the same thickness as the original Type S steering wheel. Driving it on the way home, it felt the same, so I was a little disappointed. I was hoping for a thicker steering wheel. But it sure feels different as you're steering!
But I'll put them side by side when I get home tonight from announcing the hockey game here in KC. So I'll be on late tonight-around 10:30 Central with answers for you.

GG and TrendZero, the dealership charged me $108.00-they wanted to charge $125.00, but I asked if they could do any better and my Service Writer brought it down.
I just got home, pictures were taken, they are downloading. Posting in a minute!

Looks great! Been wanting one myself, but it keeps falling down the list of other stuff I want first.

OK guys-here's some late night pictures. This first one is kind of cool and I didn't plan it this way. It shows the Dead Pedal with the Type S logo on it in the background.
I told you I would let you know about thickness of the wheel. It's the same thickness, but the leather is different from the OEM wheel. So the feel is much different. Plus, when you turn the wheel, it's a different feeling (when you grab the Carbon Fiber part of the wheel). It will take a little getting used to, for sure. I like it a lot, but like I wrote earlier, the OEM Carbon Fiber is darker than my Carbon Fiber interior trim kit. You can't see the threads as easily with the OEM wheel or any of the other OEM carbon fiber pieces. And for me, that kind of kills the beauty of the Carbon Fiber pieces. That's why I went with an aftermarket Carbon Fiber trim kit.
But if you look at Jaime's (jptl04) TL, the real carbon fiber pieces he's made are awesome. I don't have Jaime's mad skills, so I got the aftermarket kit. But I still REALLY like the kit-even though it's not the "real deal", like his.

Post #59 has the new pictures on it. It will give you a good idea of the OEM carbon fiber look as opposed to the aftermarket carbon fiber trim kit look.

Dan, I don't think this is the Aspec wheel, but I could be wrong. I've just known this as the OEM carbon fiber steering wheel.

yea there has to be something with it. That other member mentioned blue stiching? I would think there would be differences between the type-s and the base also. Good luck with yours though. It looks really awesome. might have to break down and get one soon lol

Steve found the wheel in another pic thread. The wheel in this pic is a base a-spec wheel. 4 spokes and blue stitching. I wonder if they have a 3 spoke/w red stitching for the type-s?

Dan, there is no red stitching for the Type S, but the 3 spoke steering wheels are for model year 2007, 2008+.

The install took only one hour. But I made sure all the buttons worked on the steering wheel before I left the dealership.
