OEM carbon fiber steering wheel. It also feels a little thicker than the standard steering wheel that comes on the Type S.

Just for the heck of it, I went on Ebay and looked them up. Acura of Reno came up with the best price of $287.00-I even called my dealership to see if they wanted to meet their price. They couldn't touch it, so I got one of two steering wheels left. I think they still have the other one left!
You are totally right buddy-I am a Carbon Fiber whore! I'll shoot some "after install" pics on Wednesday. I can't tomorrow night-I have to work. But I'll grab some on Wednesday.

yeah- that's a pretty good deal. i think findlay sells them for $280 on ebay w/ free shipping but at a 7 dollar difference, it's a wash. looking forward to the pics.

Thanks bro i actually just found the Findlay Acura one for 280 and printed it so tomorrow I'll hit the dealer and see if they'll hold their word. Also Steven I just got my new switchbacks back from "A'lum" I'll let you know if I run into problems with this set. And if I do I'm just gonna scratch them altogether.
And I'm VERY interested in your LED switchbacks, for sure! I'm hoping to get mine checked out sometime next week. I'm not giving up just yet, but it's very frustrating and I really want this to work.
Hmmm.....they must have sold it, obviously. Thanks for checking it.

Yes, it does-I need to compare them once the steering wheel is on!
You're right. That is what a lot of my mods are....
By the way, I took the car into the dealership this morning at 7am. I'm anxious to see how this looks!

looks sweet Steven, another great CF addition to your car. but is it gonna match your CF kit you installed? it looks close, still should look good. cant wait to see this beauty installed.
i was thinking of getting one but theres no was it will match my CF kit. its different than yours. for $280 i'd do something custom to mine. i have ideas but never did them, maybe i'll start messing with my wheel now. im getting bored again. so i have some things i want to try

I was actually suprised that you didn't already have a carbon fiber steering wheel... I hope that you take a few pictures of the stock wheel nest to the carbon fiber one so that I can see the difference in size.

OK guys, I just picked up the Type S at the dealership during lunch-it's done! I had the dealership do the install because of the airbag. But it came out great. I took these two pics with my iPhone. I have to announce our CHL hockey game tonight here in KC, so I'll get the good camera out tomorrow night to give you better pictures.
Jaime (jptl04), I took this first picture with the other Carbon Fiber interior trim kit as the background. The OEM carbon fiber is darker, but the pattern looks the same. In the sunlight, it's a better match. Out of the sunlight-the OEM stuff is darker. But these 2 pics are OK.

Very nice....subtle! Steven...when you have a chance can you measure both wheels to see if the CF is indeed thicker? It does look it in the pics, but that may be an illusion with the additional material on the top part of the rim. Either way, I like it!
