Thumbs up New Ride (Updated Pics!!)

Well everyone I finally got her and boy this 6MT is sweet! Unfortunately, the dealer told me a bunch of crap and basically the A-Spec suspension and body kit are arriving Monday after they told me they would have it done. Nonetheless, I know many people always are looking for some before/after pics so here is the car with only the (Part#200B) "Platinum/Hyper Black" A-Spec rims and tires. I also had my tint installed today...Formula One Pinnacle Ceramic 35% Front and 15% around the rear. Enjoy.

P.S. To all, thanks for all the help and info regarding this car, it made the buying process easier and understanding the 6MT a whole lot better.

Mods: Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

Beautiful ride! It'll look awesome with the body kit! Strange...the front tint looks just as dark as the rear (and a little dark for 35%)...could be my eyes, though...need to loose the front license plate...

It's a tad darker with the factory shaded glass...but the glare and reflection makes it hard to tell. Next time I post I'll try to emphasize that a bit more.

Thanks for the compliments!

Looks like they gave you the side sirts, but not the front and rear valances. Go back and get the rest of your kit!!!

I moved this to photo gallery. If you want to redo that long picture and make it the same size as the others, post the link here and I will move it to the first post and delete the other picture for you.

I guess they wanted me out of their hair and just decided to give it to me as is. At least they didn't plaster that A-Spec badge on it yet.

crap, I wanted to get aftermarket rims, but I really do not want to lower my car. I used to have a slammed VW with 19's and though it looked good, was a pain in the ass having to drive that thing worrying about every bump and driveway entrance. My sister has an 04 audi with 19's and without lowering it, it looks perfect. I was hoping that would be the case with our TL's. I guess the sportier suspension setup drops it quite a bit. This 4x4 setup does not look very good at all. Does anyone know if its possible to have 19 inch wheels and put on fatter tires with more sidewall? That way they fill out the wheel well and I wont have to lower the car? Do they even make 19 inch tires with larger profiles? All i've ever seen on 19 inch tires are rubber band tires.

Can you sell your front bumper?

Looks awesome! I bought my Anthracite (but with Ebony interior) 6-spd Navi last week, and OUCH!!!! I scratched the front right fender the other day in my own garage! (Also scratched the frickin' mirror, but not too bad.

When the dealer installs the new body kit, what do they do with the stock parts you already have? Do they let you keep them to sell, or do they keep them?

just to clarify....

Just to add to my previous post... I would most likely just get my fender touched-up, rather than the obvious expense of buying a whole new bumper removed from your car....but I was just curious if you or anyone else knew if the dealers typically keep these parts, or if you get to keep them if you want them..especially since they are brand new, perfect parts.

After reading a few posts on keepeing your stock parts it seemed like it was a crap shoot. In my case the dealer wasn't going to budge on the wheels until I got up out of my chair and headed for the door. My salesman looked like he had a heart attack and immediately asked me to head to the General Sales Manager's office. I explained the problem and could only come up with a $600 discount and a set of Floor Mats, Wheel Locks, and Trunk Tray. He told me that no one at his dealer has even received this because the are specifically aware of this (BS to me). So I couldn't keep the wheels and tires but he said I could keep everything else including the susp. WTF am I gonna do with that...I have no freaking clue.

To Scrb09:

I paid a butt load for it almost $400 with tax in cash. I can't find it any cheaper in Houston. I lot of the high end places are charging through the roof (over $400) for it here and had to really work a deal to get this price. I hope you have better luck...Most of the prices are better from what others here have stated.

I was over there getting my tint done...is it possible? I'm always scanning for TL's and recall seeing a few. I'll keep an eye out!

I don't know how to explain them but they are called either Hyper Black or Platinum (depends on who you are talking too). They are a little more shiny than the regular alloy but less than the full chrome. I think the chrome was a little too much for me, so these fit the bill quite nicely, while adding some flare as well.

Hey Dave,

What is are the buttons to the right of the side view mirror controls in your car? I have a blank panel there.
