New here; New 3G TL owner: Sacraficed my baby

Obviously, I'm new here. I'm a broke college student.

Got my 3G TL few weeks ago and have been lurking on the boards for since I joined. had to get passed the "probation" period to truly take advantage and participate.

Anyways, I've ALWAYS loved the 3G TL (and the latest design is horrid IMO).

Forgive the trash celly pics, as we're in a recession and my fund raiser is still low for me to afford that 3MP Digital Camera from K-Mart.

This place looks like a great source.

I'll get her detailed and later take some nice pics.

I plan on doing some simple additions since it's my daily driver.

So far what I have in mind:
  • Headlights cleared
  • Sound system
  • iSimple iPod integration
  • Switchblade key
That's the first batch that I plan to take care of within a few months. Paying for school/books and bills is pushing me for getting it done sooner.

Here's what I came from. The last TRUE Impala SS.
Big bodies was where it was at. But as gas prices went up and other priorities kicked in, I had to do the worst and part ways. Had her for the last 9 years.

I got her completely STOCKED. For those of you familiar with these cars, they only made them in 3 colors and all 3 shared the same BORING/Plain all grey interior. So everything you see black I added, including the two-tone seats and black Monte Carlo steering wheel with working radio controls. All the parts you see that are "chrome" are actually custom made-to-order Billet Aluminum parts made from scratch. A member over at the Impala SS forums works for a company where he used the milling machines to make these. But expensive since he made these from scratch and not mass produced. None of it is available on any site nor store. The 94-96 Impala SS market is very small for aftermarket.

The headlights where made by a member who worked for Hella and he started designing them in his garage back in 2002 and actually has them mass produced and now has his own website (focuztech.com).

Anyways, here's my baby that I dearly miss (may not get no love in this world of auto, but oh well):

Here's a video that I had showing my lighting mods I did to it:

YOUTUBE video

And here's my new love:

Again, ignore the booty cell phone quality:

Not too sure if this is the wrong place to post this . . .

If not, could someone point me to right direction?

Thanks for the warm welcomes.

@ bigBLACKTL: Trust me, I know what I'm getting into by just browsing here. Same thing happened to me over at the ISS forums. But I need to watch myself because I have books and ejumacation to pay for.

Nice man I just got my TL a couple of months ago as well and Im trying to pay for school as well as a baby. So Im trying to find cheap mods that make it nice. Thankfully mine came with custom rims (only 18s but they dont look too bad) and so far I've just put darker tint on the rear and chrome strips on the lower grille. Im in the process of getting all the parts for a DIY switch blade key so will see how that goes. Keep posting pics to see how the build up goes with your car.

Welcome to the forum man! First major mod IMO...aspec lip kit! Makes the car look that much sweeter. Oh, and parchment interior FTW!!! Good luck budgeting for mods...the bug bites hard.

Thanks for all the welcomes again!

About the Penguin, it's from Dreamwork's Madagascar. I love that little damn penguin, they all cracked me up. My girl got if for me.

And as for the little shoe, I don't have a child . . . as many suspect with having it there. It's the Air Jordan XIII (one of my favorite Air Jordan signature models). I was a BIG TIME collector 8 years ago. My collection reached it's peak at 148 pairs (deadstock). Eventually sold 90% of them for a down payment on my townhouse.

I still have a passion of Air Jordans (real ones, don't mess with fugazi) but now I just keep it in the 20 pair range to wear.

Welcome,
Jeremy.
Yes, wasn't a fan of how people bought old taxi caprices to make them "look" like an Impala SS.

Thanks for the good words, Jeremy.

I hear ya, not easy. But atleast you're making it happen.

I'm thinking of getting a switchblade key as well, but didn't know of a "DIY" in existence . . . hmmm, may have to ask you about it sometime.

A-Spec is sweet. But I'm may sound picky, because I really only like the FRONT lip spoiler of the 07-08 Type-S but the side and rear of 04-06. Strange, I know. But the 07-08 front lip will cost so much since I guess I'll have to get the whole front end kit in order to have it (won't fit directly on my 05 bumper )

Yes, I'm a newb in the "Acura" world, but thanks to yall I just found out my interior is "parchment." Which I specifically wanted just never knew the color combo name. Learn something new everyday.

Welcome

I would have kept the SS IMO not worth sacrificing for a TL...SS just has raw ass power and has more respect overall.

Like your Impala

Usually I don't like American cars but that one looks pretty good!

You'll enjoy your TL more and more, I'm pretty sure you already have realized that! haha
