Talking New to the 3rd Gen family

Hello all,

I started a thread a little while ago getting some input on purchasing an 04 TL (https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...estion-943474/). Needless to say, I pulled the trigger and am loving the car so far. Its a 2004 ABP with w/ Camel interior in great condition, 84k miles and was serviced at Esserman Acura in Doral, FL since new. Its new home is with me in Charlotte, NC. Its a early college graduation gift to myself and I plan to keep it until the wheels fall off. Its quite the upgrade from my venerable 2001 Impala 3.8 with 218k miles!

Congrats! That's a great color. One of my first and favorite mods was the Isimple iPod Bluetooth adapter...

Amazon.com: iSimple Premium Factory Radio Interface for iPod, iPhone, or iPad, and Android For Select Honda/Acure Vehicles - Frustration-Free Packaging - Black: Car Electronics Amazon.com: iSimple Premium Factory Radio Interface for iPod, iPhone, or iPad, and Android For Select Honda/Acure Vehicles - Frustration-Free Packaging - Black: Car Electronics

It works with the factory system and allows you to either plug in your iPod/iPhone or android directly, or stream it via Bluetooth. I also stream Pandora with it...

Look into replacing your 3rd/4th gear pressure switches and drain and fill the trans with 3 quarts of fluid (D1 or Redline D4), then read up on the 3x3 if you haven't already. I also have an 04 that I bought 2 years ago with 77k mi. The only issues I've had were alternator and most recently the starter failed (both of which I easily fixed myself). I just turned 100k mi and have already done the full 105k timing belt and water pump service...

I still love driving it and I'm sure you will too...

Thanks for the advice. I've been looking into an simple (the cassette adapter is getting old) and I've purchased the pressure switches and tranny fluid so that's getting done ASAP!

Thanks! The only plans so far is an iPhone adapter for music and preventative maintenance. I want to keep it stock as I love the simplicity and class of the design, but a rear lip spoiler will definitely happen soon haha

Couple pics of her after a wash. I'm no photographer by any stretch of the imagination and pics were taken with a crappy iPhone 6 camera. On another note, Acura TL's are such handsome cars and they age unbelievably well
