New 19" graphite RonJon Legends installed!! NBP TLS 6mt
I received my RJ Legends today and snapped some pictures of them on my 07 NBP Type S. As soon as I opened the boxes my jaw dropped. Pictures I have seen of these wheels on peoples cars in pictures just dont do them justice. After installing them on the car I was even more impressed. These wheels just fit this car so perfectly and the color matches the Type S accents very well.
My car is not lowered I know everyone is going to say lower it which I know I do plan on doing something. I will say though I was expecting it to look pretty bad at stock height but I was pleasantly surprised that it actually doesnt look so bad. When the time comes I plan on doing either H&R Sports or maybe A-spec springs.
The tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS in 245/35/19. Does anyone recommend what the best pressure to run in these would be? I assume stock recommend pressures do not apply to different than stock sizes.
The only possible bad thing I see here is unfortunately these things are significantly heavier than the stock wheels. I knew this going into it but I dont race my car its just a daily cruiser. So any loss of performance or fuel economy will go mostly un-noticed. I weighed my stock TLS wheels and tires at 42.6lbs each, and the RJ Legends with tires are 51lbs each.
Enjoy the pics!!!!

i have those wheels for my fronts and the legend 2s with the lip in the back i love these wheels lots of compliments and they are very strong , only thing i noticed is my car feels slow with the 20s in the back and the 19's upfront. how does your car feel with 19s all around ?

Im kind of a detail freak so maintaining a black car isnt that big of a deal to me. When I detail the car I always clay it then use a coat of quality wax. Inbetween waxes im always quick detailing it. Other than that she's my daily driver rain or shine or snow.

Sold it man :-( The thing was amazing to drive but I had an offer 5K more than I paid for it, plus we now have a newborn baby so it was a no brainer. Guy flew in from Colorado and drove it home. The 6mt TLS is keeping me content though so thats a good thing.
Yeah that was the plan I guess. I always like to keep the original stuff incase I want to go back to stock or if I sell the car.
lol. The neighborhood is only a few years old, but im just in the townhouse section so nothing spectacular. If I took a picture facing the other way you see the single family homes they are a little nicer. Another reason why the vette is gone because im working on saving for a single family home.
Thanks for all the compliments guys. Now I gotta work on finding a set of springs :-)

Wallet raped by my
Wheels look .
Drop for sure but you already know that and I'm pretty sure that is already on your shopping list. I think A-Spec kit would be just the cherry on top to finalize it all.

I dont think I said this to any member, but I like it as is without a drop. I sold my 07 TL-S mainly because it was an impractical DD and couldn't imagine hauling a child around with the lower suspension and 19" wheels. The ride was considerably different than stock. The wife loved my car but was too scared to drive it because of how low the car was. I always use to check my wheels, exhaust, jpipe, and front bumper every time she took it out....lol.
The finish of the wheels compliment the car perfect though! Then only thing I might recommend are some drilled/slotted rotors or possibly wrapping the front grill in vinyl. Both inexpensive mods that dont break the wallet or your comfort....

I have only driven the car once since I pout these wheels on yesterday and I was actually very surprised (and impressed). I was expcting a noisy, very harsh ride and thought I would want to come home and put my stock wheels right back on lol. not the case, these new Bridgstone tires are actually incredibly quiet, more so than my 17" Continental DWS tires. The ride is just a hair firmer as was expected from a 19" wheel. Performance wise so far it feels great I noticed no loss of acceleration. So far everything I was expecting to happen with these wheels (noisy, too harsh, slower acceleration) is not a factor. So far so good

Yeah, I'm gonna have to say the tires are the best bang for your buck for quality look, and comfort. If you ever get a flat, you won't even know unless your TPMS is flashing. I drove on an old set of these tires for a week, thinking my TPMS was broke cause when I looked at the tire it looked fine, Finally I checked the pressure with my pressure gauge in my glove box ( im a nub i know ) and sure enough, Tire Pressure was zero.. Of course then ( after a week of driving 100 + mph everywhere ) I limped it to firestone and had them order a replacement and drove my corolla for a few days. Only to have firestone damage the wheel ending up in them buying me a new wheel.. Of course now that I've sold all three of these sets one to you one to another member on these forums, I have 1 more wheel sitting in my shed thats bent and damaged thanks to fire stone and I have no use for it.
Again,
These wheels look incredible on your vehicle, and I really do wish I got the 08 TL instead of the 09 TSX back in late 08 very jealous, you make me regret buying the GTO! .. well until I start the goat that is...
For the drop.. I drove on Tein-ss Coilovers with EDFC. Yes it is noticeably different then stock, no its not unbearable unless you have a very sensitive taste. Only time I noticed how stiff my ride was? after having a loaner for a day cause my car was at Acura having service done. Then i'd get in my 09 tsx slammed on 16/16 drive half way down the block and be like " damn this aint stiff enough" switch over to 0/0 and go sprinting down the road like I have a sports car. I will say I preferred the coilovers over the 1 - 2" springs available, plus you don't shorten the life of your stock struts by stressing them. go team go, car looks great I'm happy you're happy have fun! I'll be back on these forums in early 2012 with a brand new TL SH-AWD. In which case I will again have another set of these! or maybe the new Devo II's? :-O

I don't think that Legends look like Type S wheels, but I sure hope you're not leaving home without some tire black on that rubber, my friend!

Oh and just an update for those curious, after many more miles I am pleased to say that I have noticed absolutely NO loss in fuel economy and these things are as quiet and smooth as stock. Its only just a tad firmer when you go over bumps and thats expected since there is so much less sidewall. So I highly recommend 19's for anyone on the fence about it. Just make sure you get good tires otherwise the results wont be as good and be sure to get them mounted and balanced by someone that knows what they are doing.

No I don't think I will be doing that as I'm not a fan of the Type S front bumper kit. Looks like there is just too much going on with the front bumper and the lines of it don't seem to match anything on the car. If the Type S kit was more subtle like the base aspec then I would be all over it. I also like to be able to use the oem splash guards as they really help to keep crud off the side of the car.
