i ordered a roof spoiler. long story short, color match was not what i was hoping for.





I will be adding window visors soon too. should i:
a) paint match the roof spoiler?
b) paint it black/wrap it in black vinyl?

in my mind, i feel the black roof spoiler might compliment the window visors well, but i dont know..

also, do you think the TL looks good with just a roof spoiler, or is a trunk lip or some sort needed to pull it off?

 

If it wasn't an ebay Taiwan spoiler I'd say send it back. Other wise wrap it in gloss black vinyl to go with the window visors.

I'd say color match it, unless you think you might vinyl wrap your whole roof too

i kind of took his word for it being a match, but i dont hold anything against him. he shipped quick and was very responsive. it's on me to get it resolved.

I'd say get it repainted to match the rest of the car.

And I ordered my M3 style spoiler from Ebay and it was a perfect match.

yeah i am leaning towards color matching the roof spoiler, but just hoping it isnt going to cost me an arm and a leg.

And find someone good to do the paint job from the beginning if you decide to paint match it. I've seen many people cheap out in the beginning, and end up spending more to fix it down the road.

 

The spoiler is Carbon Bronze Pearl, CBP. The color of your car is Carbon Gray Pearl, CGP.

The listing's photos look edited or something- the spoiler in those pics does look gray and not bronze.

 

yeah, in the listing it was written out "carbon gray pearl" and i know its my color, which is why i chose to buy it. CBP is a type s color right?

maybe i can resell it and break even.. or just paint, meh we'll see. thanks for clarification cjTL

Simple fix with a repaint...

 

Carbon Bronze Pearl wasn't a Type-S only color, but you don't see it too often on the base TL. It was only offered on the base TL for 07-08.

Whereas your color, Carbon Gray Pearl, was an 07-08 base TL color only. Not offered on the Type-S, not offered for previous years. Pretty rare color period.

I'd just repaint it. Can't be too expensive. It honestly wouldn't look bad wrapped in black vinyl if you're opposed to having it painted. It'd blend in with the window more.
