My WDP - New Wheels!!!
I dont want to say "I'm done", but it's getting there...
I got my new wheels last Wednesday, but wanted to wait until after the All-Cali meet before unveiling them to the entire AZ congregation. I got some great comments on my car this past weekend, so that was cool. Most people said it was "classy and elegant" which is exactly what I was going for. I think it looks better in real life than in photos, especially if you're looking at them on a non-CRT monitor (computer geeks know what I mean).
Wheel specs:
MRR Design (manufacturer), HR-2 (model)
Size (diameter and width) - 19" x 8.5"
Offset - 45mm
Brand of tire - Falken FK 452
Tire size - 245/35/19
No drop
No rub
Last picture courtesy of LacViet, from the All-Cali meet. Thank you for that, kind sir.
Progress page, just for kicks: http://nisene.com/images/tl_images/grill/

The grille sucks!!
Riiiiiiiight...the wheels (and grille) look just as good in this thread as the other one...except this one won't get locked for being off topic (unless you grille people start whoring it up). The car is coming along very nicely...the second and the last pic are awesome! They show off the car and the work you've done really well.

That's more like it champ! I'm not going to bother with the references to A-spec and dropping it, because I know you don't want the sport look. You were aiming for the luxury/elegant feel. So keep it like it is man...don't waiver! Looks clean and nice, just like you wanted! Good job!

Nice job Brett !!!!!
The TL looks like it could have come stock with those rims. They look really nice!!!!
Is it my eyes or does the rim have something inscribed on it?
That chrome looks even hotter in this one !!

For some reason they remind me of those rims that are on the LEXUS RX 330 SUV's anyone else??
Maybe they were seperated at birth......

the grill reminds me of the back of my refrigerator ... and your car being WDP doesn't help either lol (fridge is also white).
those wheels are too curvy/wavy compared to the TL's sharper lines.

See Brett...all these props and nobody even mentioned the grilla on vanilla!! This brings to mind my new theme song kid:
"Livin' that boss' life...hoes come running when they see me coming
livin' that boss' life...you can have anything just don't fuck with my money"
Brett - Boss Playa

Damn brett..thats looks good without the drop! I had to check if you actually gave it a drop or not. Looks really classy and adds a luxury feels. The grill's bangin as well in those pictures. Good job with the car The only thing you can do to make it hotter is paint it NBP

Wow, guys. Thanks for all the awesome compliments!
As many have suggested, I believe a kit -- or at the very least, the front part of the kit -- would be a good look for this car. I don't know which I'd prefer, the A-Spec or the RonJon, so I'm going to have to do some careful consideration before choosing. The drop is also something I want to do, but I also want it to be done very carefully, as I don't feel I need too much to get these wheels to fill out the wheel well.
SteveP66, yes, there is an inscription on the wheels. I believe it is a monogram signature of the wheel's designer. I'm not positive, though.
desper, I'll take your Lexus wheel comparison as a compliment, as I generally associate Lexus with luxury, and the luxury look is definitely one I'm trying to accomplish.
darksom1, thanks for the theme song! Always classic...
rodneyc77, WDP for life, buddy! You know it! Keep rockin' those switchbacks and keeping us of all jealous.
VQPower37, yeah, yeah, yeah. Your TL-S will smoke my bone-stock ride any day of the week. I wish I would have waited until the 2007 models were out, because I probably would have gotten the S. I got a smokin' deal on my 2006, though, because it was the end of the model year and the 2007s were coming in few weeks.
ballinfizzle89, you know WDP rules over NBP. It's like Autobots vs. Decepticons. Good vs. bad. WDP vs. NBP. Good always wins! (yes I did see Transformers last night)
tracerit, even though your comments weren't exactly positive, I appreciate your input nonetheless. I don't know how the look of my TL reminds you of your refrigerator, but you must have one sweet-ass refrigerator.

I thought so, pretty classy........those wheels look great.
As for the other things to come, go slow........no need to rush into anything that could possibly spoil that already classy and elegant look you got going there !!!

I'm fucking mad that I didn't think of that shit when I used to give you shit about your car look! Too late now...now I like it! Keep up the good work champ!
