My TL pics w/MODS done just before 1st car payment!

My 1st payment just arrived and I'm already half way done with my mods . Wife is pissed to say the least as she is stuck in her minivan

Let me know what you think!

These are rims I also purchased for my car, but decided to put TSW wheels on instead. Now they're just a back up incase I'll change my mind

That's not in the budget right now, but it sure is on my mind. maybe I can get away with 1", but tires are 35, not 30. not sure if it will rub.

next time, dress your tires and clean your exhaust tips before you take the pics!!

my first mod would be to move the junk out of the garage so you could get both cars in there.....

Looks good, I'd say you should debadge the back. And possibly later whenever you decide to drop the car, and either clear out the headlights or get the aspec lip kit.

Yeah, a drop would definitely help out the appearance of your car.

What is the make/model of your backup rims?

yeah, man...after I put those 20s on it looked like shit, so new rotors and some paint was in order. couldn't afford "real" big brakes

Depends on what you use to lower the car....it could range from 250$ for springs to 1300$ for suspension

I really like your rotors. Is that an aftermarket rotors? Where did you purchase those rotors? Please provide me a link. Thank you.

BTW wat year is your TL? is it Automatic or manual? Is your rotors drilled and slotted? Do these rotors perform any better, any warping on these rotors? Also wat type of brake pads are you running on? Thanks.

it's 04 TL 5AT and it is combo rotors(slotted+drilled). I think is by stoptech. brake pads are rotora. had them on for a week, so don't really know if warping is an issue, but these are much better than stock for sure. you will need new pads if new rotors are installed.
hope this helps

So u bought the the front and rear combo rotors for $400? Is it a direct fit and do you feel any difference? By the way how much would it cost to replace all four rotors (combo) with all four new pads from Rotora? Where did you get the brake pads? Any link you can provide me? Thank you!

I got it all here from same guy. see link posted. I got really good deal as he was making room for new stock. you may pay around $550 with pads and drilled/slotted rotors. it's direct fit for sure. pain in the ass DIY, but I know a mechanic, so it costed me around $100 to get it all installed.

basketball set. thing came down with big winds here in chi-town, so I decided to play it safe and keep it down. I would kill someone if that thing hit my car

hey man.. if those are 20" wheels, and the tires are 35 profile.... im guessing... 245/35/20? if so.... biiiigggg mistake..... the overall diamter is too much different fron stock, and its not only gonna throw off the speed-o... but it compromises your safety as the brakes, VSA & EBD are NOT going to like a wheel/tire combo that has a diamter that big

car looks good though.. but look into your tires... they are the most important thing on your car!!

245/35/20 is an overall diameter difference of almost 1.5" (6%) and 50 less revs per mile....

Yeah man...I was told. Purchased these used from different car and just didn't want to spend $700-1000 on tires right now. I'll drive these till late fall and go back to stock for winter. After winter I should be able to buy better tires 30?
thanks

yes.... definitely get a 30 series tire....

if you goto www.1010tires.com and use the tire calculator, it will tell you about the size differences and what sizes to use.. those are definitely too big...

245/30/20 or 255/35/20 (rear) if you are staggered

Falken FK452... about $175ish a tire

I really like the paint you have on your calipers? Did you powdercoat it? Or did you paint it with a brush or did you spray it? If so can you please tell me what brand you used to get that gloss on your calipers? Did you take off the calipers and sand it, or did you just paint it on? Thank you.
