My 2005 Desert Metallic TL

Just bought my 2005 TL last week for $5600. A bit high of a price for the age of the car but had only 106k miles and a really clean interior compared to what I saw in my area. I didn’t know TLs came in this color but I think it fits really well especially with the black badges on the back.

People ridicule me for old man tan colored cars...
or what I call, Miami Gold...or Project Round and Brown...
I love it...I love the red on the gold...I love how clean this car is.

The car was worth whatever you paid for it, man...hoping you have a TON
of troublefree miles!

Agreed, its a great color but under appreciated color, I’m very satisfied with buying it. Thank you for the good wishes!

Curious, do you have any plans for the car?
Or are you really smart and you don't waste money on a depreciating asset unless you have to to keep it on the road?

My only real plans right now are coilovers, wheels, and a new sound system. Would love to pick up an a-spec kit for the car but those seem difficult to come across. Outside of that and a few accessories here and there no major performance mods planned just yet, I'm pretty happy with where its at for now.

If you are happy, I would steer you clear of performance mods.
You'll make it marginally faster for a ton of cash.

Sound system if I may be so bold...
Look up a guy on facebook named Jesse Levi something...he rebuilds the factory

amp with bigger caps netting you a LOT more sound...pair that with a simple 10" sub
upgrade on an aftermarket amp in the trunk and that's probably all the system you need.

Trying to incorporate the ELS system is a MONSTER and annoying and not worth delving into IMO.

Aspec...get when and if you can. Especially the front.

I would just do tein basis and spacers on stock wheels...classic 5 spoke quality wheel.

My 1st two cars were "Grandma Gold" Honda's; an Accord and Prelude. I think I've seen maybe 1 gold 3G TL.

Good to know about the amp, Ima def look into this! Looks like his name is Jesse Levi Kelley on FB and he has a site; https://phantomaudiosound.com/shop-by-car/acura/tl/

Desert metallic tl

Ive got the 2004 of the same colour. Picked her up for $500 but she needed alot of love. With the help of this site and youtube i was able to bring her back to life. Transmission filter and fluid, thermostat and new hoses/coolant. Drilled and slotted brakes, painted the calipers. Fixed curb rashed rims with new Michelin pilot sports. Oil and oil filter. Throttle cable adjustment. Spark plugs. Going to put new coil packs in after i do the valve cover gaskets and intake/ throttle body clean with new gaskets. Car has 297k but still going strong.

I agree with all the above. I kept mine stock 13 years and I love it.

Rockstar, didn’t RonJon make make some fairly cool / popular wheels for the TL?
I wish I had bought aftermarket wheels a long time ago so that I would have some pristine TypeS wheels in the garage.

Anyways, congratulations on your purchase you did well!

ONLY chance you'd have is if it's auto and even then...people have realized that the 3G TL was the one.
