MTEC Super White FOGS + Silver Star DRLs
Ok. I took some pics tonight of my NEW MTEC Super White Fogs (4350K) on my 08 CBP Type S. THESE LOOK GREAT. Much better vs stock bulbs, and these come VERY close to matching the HID headlights...................TAKE A LOOK!!!!
THE PHOTOS AGAINST THE GARAGE DOOR SHOWS HOW BRIGHT & TRUE COLOR:
HERE IS THE SILVER STAR DRLs AT NIGHT....................MUCH BETTER vs stock, IMO:
These were VERY YELLOWISH before (sorry no before & after pics), but now these are MUCH WHITER & BRIGHTER...................

OK. Sorry I should have been more SPECIFIC on the bulbs...........
FOG LIGHTS: MTEC Super White (japanese) XENON filled H8 size. These are 4350 K color.
Yes, they are BRIGHT.........BUT NOT BLINDING..........vinnier6.......these are rated at 65watts. Yes, the color is SLIGHTLY BLUE.........but mostly WHITE.........it is a GREAT LOOKING bulb. I think these match our HID headlights VERY well...........AND REALLY LIGHT UP NICE!!
**The stock fogs were "yellowish" & DULL..........these are a VAST IMPROVEMENT.
DRLs: THESE ARE THE BULBS UP BY THE HEADLIGHTS...............my Fog Lights are LOWER.
These are Sylvania Silver Stars (from AutoZone) size 9005. These are supposed to be 4100 K in color. I think they are still a little yellow up close, but from a distance.........MUCH BRIGHTER & WHITER vs stocks.
**I would probably suggest the Slyvania SILVER STAR ULTRA..........these are supposed to be EVEN BRIGHTER & WHITER at 4300 K in color OR some MTEC Super Whites in 9005 size.

UMMMMMMMM. I don't think you need to use that kind of language here on this site. You don't know me..............and I sure WOULD NOT want to know you.
Look, pal..........these are NOT BRIGHT or BLINDING Fog Bulbs. These are just a DIFFERENT COLOR (same watts as stock) a simple "plug n play" BULB.
READ THE POST.
I was simply trying to get rid of the YELLOWISH HALOGENS that come with the car originally..........my intentions were NOT to BLIND oncoming traffic.
So before you go and........... ................take a Valium (or 2) and CHILL THE OUT, bro!!

He upgraded his fogs with the same type of bulb (H8) and he didn't change the reflector or fog lamp housing (so the fog-lights are designed to give a wide dispersion) and he didn't change the aiming of the light. (fogs are aimed low from the factory as they are more functional that way).
So even though they are brighter and whiter, they aren't blinding anybody.

uhhh ok hold on the wattage of the DRL is controlled by a resistor and relay in the electrical system. its not determined by the bulb or the capacity of the bulb. the bulb is only putting out what the resistor is letting it put out. i dont see how you can be blinded by a drl.

well your DRL's weren't meant to be bright...i actually prefer the dim low wattage bulbs...looks good for just before sunset driving with your parking lights on...
and for the blinding people...i love it...doesn't mattery where the lights are aimed as long as the traffic coming towards you is far enough away...they'll be blinded...and its nice for those assholes who drive Slow in the fast lane....

MTEC Super White 4350K color FOG BULBS. Got them from Ebay. I bought thru MTEC Power and these were shipped from overseas, came very very fast!!!
I like them.........these are not BLINDING, just WHITER & BRIGHTER vs stock "yellowish" halogens.
Piece of cake install. 10 minutes total for the Fog Bulbs..............Much better looking!!

fogs do NOT blind anyone. fog lights purpose is to light up the foreground, everything right infront of the car.
low beams main purpose is to light up the road at a distance and as wide as possible.
both do not blind anyone when aimed properly. hi beams on the other hand do blind people.

i was never a fan of DRL's.. and they can never be truly white because i think the power going to the DRL harnesses are lowered for the bulbs so they never run at full wattage.. so even if you put 4100K bulbs such as the silverstars in there, they wont run at 4100K because i believe that 4100K color is only achieved at its full wattage... at least thats what i remember when i had my accord not sure if its the same for the TL.. someone please correct me on that if im wrong
anyways... DRL's are stuck in the middle between white and yellow... some dull color in between.. i broke down and ordered yellow 9005 bulbs to replace them.. ive never seen another TL with yellow DRL's before so i figured what the heck ill give it a try
I bought these from Autodynamic.com for $25 and are stock 55 wattage
