MRTaylor's 'progress' thread

So this is my first picture thread I've made on my car and as always, constructive criticism is very welcome

Before this car I had a 2000 Mustang GT that was totaled (someone pulled out in front of me in the rain and I swerved to avoid him and flipped/rolled through a wrought iron fence and almost into a pool while I was unconscious).

Anyways, I've always been really into modding my current vehicle (even my jeep before the mustang) and it definitely stuck with me with my TL.

It is an 04 NBP 6MT A-Spec and honestly from switching from muscle to import, I really still preferred muscle for about a year but I think I am definitely converted now.

old ride:

NEW ride!

started modding REAL small

Then went for custom headlights

Color matched front grille and silver hood trim piece

Got some custom tails from Ack

And here is the current progress

I also have some interior stuff done like a hardwired Valentine radar detector and Rockford Fosgate 1000w amp and P3 Punch sub. I also have stage 1 exhaust and I removed the air silencer when I did my headlights.

I have a lot more mods 'planned' but I don't always have the cashflow to do so.

Let me know what you guys think

Oh and yes those are Type-S wheels on an A-spec...the owner before me put them on there

Nice MKIV, link to photos?

TS, lookin good. Love when the grille is completely color matched on the NBP cars, but I hope you plan on finishing the bottom portion of it? Doesn't look that great half finished. Tails are hot

Hello from the Triangle

I'm sorry to hear that your Mustang was totaled. Hopefully you didn't have any injuries.

The TL looks great even though I prefer the 18" A-Spec wheels over the 17" Type-S. I would suggest that you buy the OEM Rear Type-S Sidemarkers so they match the front ones. Also you should paint the lower grill trim so it matches the piece on the hood.

Hopefully I'll see you at the next NC meet

I actually left the grille like that on purpose knowing that I would probably change it later just so I could get some feedback on it so thanks! I thought the silver 'V' might look kind of cool

Well thank you and actually that is the amazing part is that the most significant injury I sustained was two broken ribs from my seatbelt and I thank God every day for saving my life!

And I agree about the wheels and looked into the side markers but I decided to go the cheap method (at least for now) and tint the heck out of them so that they pretty much blend in with the car!

I definitely want to go to the next meet and I actually tried to go to this past one but got tied up and ended up missing it

Wow dude that's amazing considering how the car looked after the wreck. I'm glad you weren't injured besides that

I'm sorry you weren't able to make the last meet! Hopefully there will be another one in Charlotte or Raleigh sometime soon!

Thanks man that means a lot! And I definitely cannot wait for the next meet because I've actually been on this site for quite awhile now (changed my user name) and STILL haven't gotten to go to ONE!

Well that needs to change! Look in the Southeast Region section of the forum for any upcoming meets and such. There is an off-topic Charlotte thread there just to chat about shit as well.

I saw you driving down Monroe Rd in Matthews around 200-300 pm. I was in the wifes lexus but I am pretty sure it was this car. The cleared out headlights gave it away that it wasn't the everyday TL. The car is looking good soo far. Drop it next!

Really!? What day was that?

And it has an A-spec drop and any aftermarket drop is currently out of my budget

Sorry about your Mustang man.. But your TL looks so clean! I would suggest selling the Type-S rims and getting some gunmetal A-Specs as well

That is certainly an option! Do you have any idea where the best/cheapest place to get them would be? Probably the black market right?
