Ok totally get it now. Actually comparing to yours it seems like he blackened the area around the actual lights and left the signal area clear. I wonder how it would look the opposite (cleared headlight area with type-s signal area). Have you ever seen pics of anything like that?

MAS, buddy, I agree with all opinions...do not sell your car...
I had the same itch recently, but look at it this way, this is the perfect beater car...its paid off, low on insurance, reliable...
I dont go as cray cray as Jeremy and switch headlights and tail lights morning and then evening, but just keeping her nice and clean, and I still enjoy driving her a lot...am sure you enjoy driving her more (SC and 6MT)
I would suggest holding off modding the TL and looking for a new(er), a lot more fun to drive car

Right now what's helping me decide to keep it is the fact that the only other car i like cost $40k used. I'm in love with the 2010-2013 CTS-V. I just would feel a bit bad about buy a 4 year old car with over 50k miles for the price I could buy a decent brand new car with all the upgrades.

well thats always the debate right?
if you have 40K to spend, you have 3-4 options:
1> buy a new 30K car and spend 10K in mods
2> buy a brand new 40K car
3> buy a slightly used 50-52K car (new)
4> or a slightly older 65-70K car (new)
for 40K, if you are looking for new, I am digging the new Mustang GT...you can get the GT Premium with some upgrades for 40-42K
CTS-V has always been a fav of mine...I was eyeing the Wagon version since with a kid, I could definitely use the extra space...
Also for 40K, the VW Golf R sounds very enticing

true, but there is one thing I have learned which is creating HP is very difficult...
so, you could get a used S2K/BRZ/FRZ for 15-20K...throw a turbo on it, add all other mods and spend another 10-12K on it to make it look and run nice, but then again you will be in the 400-ish HP range...which is very very impressive, but you are at and over all 35K...
if you get a used M3 for 40K, it would be equal grounds at that point...and with the M3, the only route you have is ahead
I know EXACTLY what you are going through bud...I went through the same recently...with wanting a 2-3 year old GTR but soooo many more options in the price range is just left me more confused than where I was
the final conclusion was, either route I go, am not selling the TL since it is modded and perfect for DD and as a winter beater
hell, I have only 2-3 more mods planned and then am totally done with the TL

4 's in that post...
I had to have made at least 1-2 good points LOL
anyway, I was just stating my thought process...not trying to sell you on my though process...your TL is sick, and I would hate for you to wave it leave...

I'd love for you to go on a somewhat curvy road where wifey can record you do fly bys at the apex for ability to see the car really well for a long time.
Looks good, Marco...diggin the tint look. Hope you don't get hassled by popo...
I always go darkest legal.
Funny...your reason for wanting to sell and also deciding to keep is the same as mine. I want a V also and can't justify spending 40K when I already have a perfectly good paid off car.

Man, I know the struggle you're going through. I got through it every now and then, and I keep resisting the urge. My problem is that the TL isn't nice/sporty enough to be a garage queen and justify a beater on the side, but it also isn't anywhere near being crappy enough to be considered the cheap beater while a true garage queen waits for sunny days.
A nicely modified TL is just a great all around car. While in no way is that a bad thing, it just makes it difficult to justify a second car. I'm only at 63K on mine, so maybe in 5 or 6 years I'll be able to change my opinion on that once I'm in the 15-year-old, 150k range. Who knows. But I know for now I'm just enjoying have a reliable, easy to work on and maintain vehicle that also looks great.

The weekend can't come soon enough.....
#1351
Wasssaaaaaap!!!! Hope everyone is doing great.
Been a bit busy lately with work meetings, dinners and travels. Back in town for a couple weeks before next travel arrangement.
I was out biking the other day. Cool trail in Orlando that has good beginner and advanced level trails. Started with the beginner and went on to the advanced where i busted MY ASS on a pretty technical bridge & ramp combo. Bent my rear wheel and got a couple scrapes. I'm ok with it as i believe thats part of the advanced biking experience. Anyways here is a pic of the beautifuls sights (incidentally this was taken just a couple minutes before my big fall). I should be getting my bike back before the weekend.

that's my other hobby/passion...bikes!
If you get serious about riding the trails...consider pm'ing me for bike recommendations. I love my stumpjumper fsr!
You are from Tampa, no? I have to say that Alafia has some of my favorite Florida trails.

Orlando. This was actually my first try at mountain trails. I usually ride just to get a workout or for some sightseeing. Based on my first try i can see how it can get expensive. Bent my rear wheel (full suspension might have avoided that though). Fixing parts or buying high-end equipment can start to hit the wallet. Got lucky where i fell too, some other areas i could've inconveniently fell right on to one of the thousands of sharp stumps sticking up from the ground (skinny trees with the top half broken off).
Since your heavy into it let me ask you. My bike has 26" wheels. Seems to me that for technical, narrow, high maneuver, slower speed trails the 29" wheeled bikes would be a bit harder to manipulate in tight situations. Seems like smaller wheels lets you make sharp direction changes better. I'm asking because i went with 26" but all i see around is 29.

and now they have 27.5" too...IMO, it's all a fad. I'm a big fat fk and I'm great on my 26'er...
Honestly, the full suspension wouldn't have saved your wheel.
you CAN build up your bike if you have a decent/light/strong/frame...but it might be as expensive as just plopping down the cash on a better set up.
I'm slightly biased but any 2007+ Stumpjumper FSR you can snag...or similar...will probably do just fine. I actually ended up upgrading to some FSA (a good brand) tubeless tires. You'll get there eventually if you really end up loving to go.

You're probably right. I took the fall in a pretty tough area. It was a steep 10ft drop to where a couple 2x4's where used as a bridge over a little stream then immediately a steep 10ft hill. I think when i hit the bottom the rear wheel bent which made it get stuck on the brakes. Once i hit the steep hill i already had a stuck back wheel, plus the steep hill to overcome and lastly a tree root which was half sticking out where my front tire couldn't get over (i later realized the rear wasn't helping but hurting my momentum). Anyways i had like 2 seconds in mid-air just on the front wheel while the bike decided which side it wanted to land. Couple scrapes and scratches but i feel like i earned my first stripes in the mountain biking world. Haha.

Alright my Azine Peeps, i am going to give this a shot. Here is my For Sale Listing on the Black Market....................https://acurazine.com/forums/member-.../#post15462894
I'm still not 100% convinced i want to get rid of the car but once again i rarely use it so here goes. Also recently my Sarona Roof Spoiler was stolen while it was parked at the airport for a week and i haven't even been motivated to work on a replacement. I think i just need to move on. Anyways time will tell and if it doesn't sell then maybe it was divine intervention and i should keep it forever and ever. For the moments here is the listing. I also just did a listing on Autotrader, i will supply that link as well once i have it.
Thx
