Looking for pix of Carbon Gray Pearl w/Type S tails.
Hey guys, I'm considering doing Type S tails on my base TL because I think they will match the finish on my wheels pretty close. If you have a CGP with Type S tails, please post as many pix as you can.
My car, for reference.

I hate most aftermarket crap, even it it fits well, something is always wrong, it'll either leak, fade, etc. Better to get OEM for sure. I mean, my car is over 8 years old and the tails look like new, and the fit is fantastic . I wonder how much I can sell them for? Hmmm... lol

you wont get much for your stock tails thats for sure. You should be able to get type s tails fairly cheap unless you want them brand new. I got a set from Bruce for a great price.

sorry for the derail, but anyone got specs on those polished wheels? they look like varrstoens in palladium finish.
As for headlights, probably a WHOLE lot cheaper to mod your stock ones to look like type-s!

OP I have Depo Type-S tails. They don't have any leaks or condensation build up after washing and the LEDs in them are the exact same brightness as OEM tails. HOWEVER, my 1 complaint is that the chrome bezel on them is brighter than OEM Type-S tails. You can clearly see a difference in a side by side comparison. The dark chrome in the OEM Type-S tails looks better than the brighter chrome in the Depo's.
Also if you are going to put Type-S tails on, regardless of OEM or not, you might as well do the smoked rear side markers too. As Type-S tails with the base red side markers look out of place.

I prefer the look of the smoked sidemarkers - couldn't stand the red lol - one of my front markers was going out, so I took the opportunity to by a new set and went smoked all around. Can't wait to see more pics after you get the lights installed

Don't get me wrong, I like the smoke much better than the red, but they match too closely to the color of my car, so they're basically gone, leaving the ass looking larger, and less detailed. If my car was a brighter color, or white, they would have been my first mod!

New 2007 base CGP owner here and I don't want to hijack your thread but are those AG wheels? Love the look on your CGP and I do believe the type s tails and lights will look amazing. Make sure you share some pics when ur done as we would all love to see them.

Thanks guys. I think they really set the car off. But I think I need to do something about the bright strip over the plate, it's a bit strong now. Flat black maybe?

Type S Tails for the win man, I've never even slightly considered modding mine.
And just fantastic photography, as usual. Some of the cleanest pictures on the forum. As above, also interested in your gear.

Thanks for the compliments guys .
Gear is Nikon D800 w/Nikkor 200 ƒ2.
However, it would be a mistake to think the pictures were mostly a product of the gear and not photography technique, and post processing, which are ultimately more important than the gear. I'm not suggesting that you guys are saying the gear made the photos, I'm just letting you both know that if you had the same gear your shots would not look like this SOOC.
You can get this look for a lot less too, it's just a lot more work. I shoot natural, with some witchcraft, but this look can be obtained with a reasonable lens and using the Brenizer Method. Just look it up .
Anyway, if you have any questions, just let me know.

Oh yeah, I've definitely learned it's so much more than the gear that makes a photo. The amount there is to learn about a photography is damn near overwhelming, and I admittedly haven't taken the time to learn nearly enough yet. However, I will read up on that method for fun

It is, but it's a fun process. If there is enough interest I may start a photography tips thread, just as an "ask me any question" sort of thing.
