I would love to see pics of some chromed OEM rims especially on an 05 ABP.

 

Someone from Atlanta posted this in the Photo Gallery some time ago. I can't find the original thread; if I could, I'd link it so that the original poster could get credit for the picture. I thought the wheels look pretty spiffy, but then I learned that chrome wheels are bad in an area where it snows unless you swap them out each year, but that's a pain and I'm a skier, so I dropped the idea of getting this done. Sure looks nice, though.

The dealer had the OE rims 'dipped' for $1200. I live in Atlanta, what is snow?

I was thinking one day. If the cost of the OEM wheels are already in the price of the car why would it cost an extra $1200 to chrome them. I would think that it would cost an additional $200 per wheel at the most to chrome them. Is my logic F#$%ked up? I could take the OEM wheels and get after market chrome wheels for $1200 and sell the OEM wheels for at least $100 per wheel.

 

Looks nice. That's my choice right now unless they come out with some more wheel options in 06.

 

I saw this car this past Saturday, and it's absolutely stunning! The wheels were the first thing that caught my attention. I can't tell you how many times I remarked, "Damn, those rims are hot."

Now, most wheel sites I've seen charge about $125-$174 per wheel to chrome. From a few other threads, OEM's in good shape tend to go for around $700-$800 a set.

 

I've had the chrome for 2 winters on my car and they still shine like brand new. Make sure you wash with soap and water only. During the winter make sure you wash them in your garage with soap and water.. Hopefully they last for a long time to come.
