I have no clue lol. I just use the auto settings and no tripod. So I know there is a LOT of room for improvement. All I did before posting the pictures online was resize them. I wish I knew how to use all the manual settings on this thing.

You can really make these shots pop with the right settings & post processing. Anyone want to attempt a poor mans HDR on James first or last pic. I think the XSi has AEB. I've had a D40 for a while but I just upgraded to a D90. If you shoot these in RAW or TIFF format you can use photomatix & produce an awesome HDR image or you can use AEB and set several exposure steps. Check out the HDR thread in Off Topic section. Nice pics regardless..

 

i did a quick HDR attempt and it came out ok. If i had the raw i could really work the photo and have less noise. But none the less it came out ok.

yeah it's damn near impossible.. the noise is really strong. James could desaturate the pic.. then put the original layer in and just pop the KBP. Hmm.. I might be busy this evening.. lol.

 

Some awesome pics for a first time. Simply beautiful.

 

the fore ground really came out good and so did parts of the sky but the moon was really hard to work on with out other parts of the picture getting messed up. I been really experimenting with HDR lately and than trying to do a HDR pano.

 

^ the colors & definition pop.. but yeah. you can only do so much. Keep us updated in the HDR thread!

 

My HDR attempts to those in the HDR thread are real beginner's shots as compared to drigo and others. Once i feel like i can capture better pics and create better HDR i will post some there.
