Just installed Type S rear under spoiler on Base
Well I was gonna wait till summer for this mod, but I couldn't
help myself.
Got the rear spoiler from e-store for $258 not bad at all for a
painted under-body spoiler.
My boy installed the tip for me in exchange for some Coors light beers.
I must say the rear bumper is a pita to install on a base bumper.
took me almost 4 Hrs. the front spoiler only took me 20-25 mins.
after he cut the ugly square tip. If someone wants it pick them up for free.
test fit weld
final welding
Done
car looks way higher than it is on pics cause It just got on the lift.
Just need to add the mesh to the spoiler and I need Type S tails bad.
help myself.

Looks great!
I regret getting the 04-06 lip whenever I see Type-S rear lip on base TLs.

Did you have to cut the rear bumper in in half? er the lower half off?

that's exatly what I am wondering. Like is there something getting in the way? haha I mean I thought the typeS bumper still rolls off the bottom like a base TL.. But I DO know the exhaust TIP area would get in the way. So I would think you could cut just around the tips and leave the rest installed.. So I doubt you would have to cut alllll the waaayyy across the bumper.. horizontally

Chad I did it just like you said. It was not necessary to completely cut the middle portion of the rear bumper off.
I only cut the exhaust openings on my bumper to make it slightly bigger so the Type-S lip can slide over it.
A lot of people cut the middle portion of the bumper completely off and when you install the Type-S lip there is a big gap in the middle where normally there would be a mesh grill
