Updated pics
I haven't uploaded any pics in a while and unfortunately the iPhone ones I recently took are not the best ..too sunny or the car wasn't clean enough but I'll post them up anyway.
Recent updates:
- got some new VLEDS 6000K DRL bulbs and harness for full power ..went with 6000K since they're never normally on with all my other 5000K lights
- VLEDS V2 5000K switchbacks
- removed my 3M carbon wrap from the front grille and rear license plate garnish as it wasn't looking as fresh as I would have liked
- removed the blown factory sub and installed a 10" sub and amp I had laying around ..huge difference!
- installed rear RDX caliper covers

Car is looking good - how do you like the switchbacks?
I may look into those same JnC headlights....I've just had trouble deciding between matte black and glossy black.

Thanks KJ. I like the switchbacks but I'm having an issue with them. After prolonged use (like 30mins) they turn into a cross between V2 and V1's ...probably due to heat. VLEDS said I can return them but I have to ship them back and go through the hassle. Since I'm in Canada I have to pay a processing fee to have my stuff received at a warehouse across the border. That fee + shipping things back starts to add up so I'm considering trying a different type of switchback if these bother me enough. I did the relay mod so it should hopefully be a straightforward swap to something else (other than Tritons).
Thanks Steve!!

Thanks Steve!!
Is it possible there was a problem with the relay mod that's causing the switch between v1 and v2?

They work fine for a while then start to act up due to heat. I googled it before and noticed others having the same issue. I paid $25 for them on VLEDS ..may look into something else later.

So the only problem is that after a while when you decide to signal, instead of blinking amber, it'll blink amber white amber white? Or does it randomly switch between the two randomly?

That's correct. When it's doing V1 it almost looks like a strobe effect. Not sure why they're still selling these if people back in 2012 and probably earlier were having the same problems. Ebay has some for around $8 shipped from Hong Kong - I may try some of those later or just try some of the cree type bulbs. I'm not looking to spend $140 of Tritons.

Today I installed a new battery and plastidip'd the cross bar of the front grille and rear license plate garnish. It was the first time I used plastidip but it was a good experience - flowed well and seemed easy to work with.

I haven't had any updates in a while so I snapped a couple pics with the iPhone last week.
I swapped the 18" Nurburgrings out with 19's - kind of an odd fitment but the price was great and I'm happy with how it looks. I'm going to change the center caps when I remove the wheels for the winter. I also plasti dipped the rest of the front grille as well.
Wheel setup:
- 19" TSW Nurburgring in 5x112 / +45 offset
- Motorsport-Tech 5x114.3 to 5x112 20mm adapters
- 235/35/19 Continental DWS tires
I also have a set of 15mm Motorsport-Tech adapters but they wouldn't work with the TSW Nurburgring's since the pocket on the back of the wheel is too small. I had to go with 20mm adapters front and rear. 25mm would probably have fit for the rear but I didn't want to roll fenders or have issues with rubbing.

The 19's look excellent-especially with the Type S Aspec Kit. The kit can be a little "heavy" for OEM sized wheels.

By the way, the wheels look like the perfect color for your car.

Thanks! It's a great car that gets a lot more attention than my Mazdaspeed3 ever did. Keep us posted.

Jon, awesome car man! I just bought a 08' TL Type S 5AT, last week so I'm new to the Acura family . I like that you have an aggressive but classy TL look, that's what I wanted to do with mine. I'm glad I came across your thread. Could you tell me what LED strips you used for your floor wells? Do you happen to have any pics of them? I appreciate the info, thanks!
