JDKNIGHT progress thread (Stance Vip TL) slow build ^_^ updated 6/16/13 New Pics Pg.4

Hello everyone , I'm Johnny I have a NBP 08 TL 5AT and as u can tell from the title I'm from Arizona but here's a short story about me...

I got my TL at the end of 2007 and just barely reached 40,000 miles on it lol so yea. I don't drive my baby a lot even tho it's my daily driver. I'll be honest and admit my dad bought me this car when I was 18 as a late graduation present. I graduated high school my Jr. year but didn't get it until a year after I graduated. So I pretty much spent my senior year working and trying to save up for college not ever expecting my dad wanting to buying a brand new car for me as my 1st car. I was expecting a crappy used car as a first car but my dad was just tired of having issues with used cars like the one he bought for my older sister. So a year after I graduated and was working he bought me my car as a Christmas/late graduation present . I wanted to take responsibility and help my dad with the payments as much as I could. That set me back 2 years before I got to go to college because I was working to help with the payments. Did I regret getting my car??? At times I did because I wanted to finish school as soon as possible (I hate school & just wanted to be done with it lol) but as time went by I got a better job and got back into school. Now its been 5 years since I've had my car and I've taken over the car payments for the last 2 years and I'm almost done paying my car off .

Finally... I just wanted to say that owning my car taught me the value of a dollar. My TL is my most valued possession that I earned and own. I found Acurazine forums when I first got my car and spent most of the time lurking in the shadows, learning from all you great members that put their hard work into making their car unique and amazing . Now that I'm 22 and I've been waiting for a very long time to start modding my car and hope to be officially apart of the TL family .

So step 1: I wanted to lower my car so I slammed it on K-sport coilovers XD

Here a teaser for my up coming project for this amazing car

More to come...

Welcome, drop looks great! In your future plan of mods I think I would leave the license plate covers off the car. Also, do something with those red center caps on the wheels, especially if you're going to use blue lugs. Good luck and keep us updated along the way!

Nice car and good story. Those license plate frames are the sweetest mod I see there. For real though, leave the plate frames off, unless ofcourse AEM is paying you for the advertising ;-)

I change my license plate blubs to hyper white

Did my interior lights as well and change the blubs to hyper white

OEM window visor

I got my fenders roll and pull the rears a bit

Varrstoen ES2 aggressive stance

One of the final piece for my car came in today "VIP" charm

Gotta keep my baby smelling fresh, JDM squash scent lol

Okay here a teaser of my front rim poking

Front side teaser, I'm thinking about removing the center cap or maybe keep them on either way I think it look good both on or off

Thanks everyone , I have to pull the rear fenders a bit because it rubbing my rear tires, so I dont have my rims on yet but what do u guys think if I got my rear fenders flare and pull will look good on TL??? I'm kinda ify on it so if anyone has a picture of a TL with flared fenders that looks good will be helpful. If anything I will just have them pull a bit without any flare. It was suggested by a friend but I need my fellow AZ members opinions as well before I make my decision lol.

man you really splurged on the mods.

What tire size are you running? You should try to run some more camber before you flare it. I'm not fan of flared fenders, but that's just me.

Edit: I just saw your rear wheel specs. With 19x10.5+12 I'm pretty sure you're going to either 1) going run hella camber to make it fit or 2) flare it or have some minor body work done on the rear fenders. If you do the bodywork, I would try to keep the original fender lines.

Thanks for your input bro, I personally dont like camber. I mean its okay if its not camber too much just a little is fine or I can just raise my car up a half inch .5 and it will clear I think. I have a lot of wheel test fitment to do this winter break fml... lol

Wheels look great! Post more pics! You probably know, but 10k HID bulbs light up the road a lot less than the stock 4300k bulbs, especially when it's raining. Once you get past the 6k color temperature, your usable light goes down drastically. Plus, you always see ricey Civics and redneck pickups with those annoying 100000000k blue HID's, so blue isn't always better.

Wow man those are some pretty aggressive specs in the rear. As far as the center cap, either leave it off or paint it another color. The red cap really isn't flowing with anything else on the car, especially with blue lug nuts. Can't wait to see some better pics with the wheels on.
