Once you get the stock coils off it should be pretty straight forward.

I would install them tomorrow, but I am fixing rust on a friends MB E320. I cant believe how much rust it already has on it. Its the same year as my TL. but looks 10 years older. It drives nice, I prefer my car WAY MORE
Good Night

5 hours and no rear coils?

I'm going with new parts so hopefully it's just take off, set up new coil and install.

Can't wait for pics let us know if you have any squeaking.

I re-used all OEM parts to save $$$ Had problems with 1 bolt and getting the OLD coilovers out. But I have done it before and knew what to expect. I took small breaks also. Here are a few pics with just the front on, car is dirty also. No time to take care of my car lately

A-Spec kit coming in the end of July, in about 5 weeks. Next I am installing 2-12" Diamond subs with a 1200 WRMS clean Hifonics sub amp

Haha it reminds me of my S10 when I lowered it, looked like a drag car, really high in the back.

At least you have half of it done now! The rear should be a breeze!!

Good progress man

Thanks
Finally got all 4 coilovers on
Washed the car and took a drive
I am sure I need an alignent, but it drives great
I set the damping to half way, 13 clicks. I think I will make it 2 clicks firmer

Taking all the bolts off wasnt hard at all, makes me wonder if this car was lowered before ? The driver front shock was aprox 1/2" above the seat on the fork. And the bolts came off easy ? I am sure it was modded more than I was told. Getting the OEM coilovers OUT is the hardest part.
The TEIN SA coilovers are shorter and very easy to install

It took me 10 hours Total. Working alone is slow.

Peace Brothers and Sisters of AZ

Now I have to find a level surface to measure the shocks. They are off about 1/8" to each other.
Then firm them up a bit more

Thankyou AZ

yes the Teins get tough coz you need to compress the springs and deal with all that....

with ISC or other coilovers its pretty simple, as you just do a direct swap and dont need a spring compressor and all that

none the less, well done

need moar pix

Its pretty easy, but I have done it before, so I knew what to expect
Getting all the trim pieces and back seat out and in is a Pain
With 2 people its quicker. When I had my son and his buddy help me in the spring of 09 it went much quicker

More pics
They settled more then pics. About 1/2" gap all around

The spring compressing doesnt take long. All the other things like getting the OEM coilovers is difficult, unless you compress the OEM coil while still in the car. I had to do that with one of them, getting those long things out is a pain. Putting the OEM parts on the Tein's and installing is a breeze.

Congrat on your install, brother. I know swoosh is salivating at the picture of the rear seat out of the car. Just make sure to re-install it when you're done!

Thanks swoosh

I am going out now to level the coilovers, they aren't even. I am going to lower it a tad, and firm up the shocks. About 16 clicks, 3 clicks firmer from the center

Then an alignment soon

Kool I dont know how to post Big pics ???? I have tried SO MANY TIMES

I just set the front at 18 click from 13 clicks (which is center)
I think I will go 20 clicks in front and 18 in back. Adjusted the height of the passenger rear coilover, and need to go down another 1/8th inch. The driver front needs to also go down 1/8th inch. I made 2 small holes in the back deck to adjust the firmness, but I cant find the adj hole with a longer allen wrench I guess I will go out and take the back seat out AGAIN

OK I will ask my Geek friend to help me put up big pics like I use to

Once the rear shocks are set, there isnt a reason to take the seat out. I got it at 18 clicks in the rear, and 20 clicks in the front. Springs settled more. Much better, low enough

Question ?
What next ?
A-Spec Body Kit ?
Or ATLP non-resonated Quad Catback ?

JD...your car is on point !!!

as Austin suggested, i would highly recommend the ASPEC body kit...i think its adds to the overall look and makes the car look 10X hotter !!!

I built it sealed for more accurate low bass. I am putting 2-12" Diamond D3 subs in it, using a Hifonics Class-D sub amp thats 1200 watts RMS clean at 2 ohms. I am mounting the amp, cap, wires on an oak board attached to the back seat. Then all I have to do is disconnect the wires and take it out if needed. The subs are firing down.

I LOVE tomatoes
