I'm BACK! God Bless the 3G TL!
08 ASM / ebony with NAVI
purchase date: jan 7 2012
**this might have been one of the last 3G TLs produced as the 'in service' date is Oct 2008**
certified with powertrain warranty up to 7yr/160000km. and bumper to bumper up to 6yr/100000km.
this time around...i'm afraid i wont be modding this at all... things that I have already done :
1. Interior lighting and license plate lighting changed out to pure white LED.
2. Fixed the trunk-based rattle when there's too much bass in music playback.
3. Changed out stock fog bulbs to Nokya hyper yellow 2500k
4. Adding rear splash guards.
...and thats all i'm gonna do with her.. i almost went for the ASM TypeS but this being a daily commuter car/family car...i opted for the comfort/smoothness of the base navi...and wow did I ever miss it!

This has been discussed but that thread is buried somewhere so I will do the best I can to explain:
Open your trunk
Pop out the trunk light
Now peer into that hole and you will see the culprit!
There is a plastic hook that is vibrating against the metal above it.
What I did was cut a small piece of microfiber cloth and stuffed it in between the
Plastic hook and the metal. It's tough as there is not a lot of space in there but it resolves that annoying buzzing rattle during basssssss.
Others who have done this please chime in but this is easiest rattle to fix.

Absolutely NICE!
I just bought my 08 Pearl White 3g base TL from my brother in the Seattle area and imported it up here in Vancouver. This thing is mint and loaded. He ordered it and got delivery in August of 08.
These cars are just sweet to drive and own.

Welcome back! Looks like you're sticking to mods that will keep your TL looking clean and very close to stock. I've read on the forum that the led board can be seen if you take the diffuser out on base 07-08 tail lights. Please post some pics once you're done. I'm still not 100% if I want to do this mod too. THanks.

18" a-specs done.. oh hell.. there is no cure for the mod bug! caliper painting coming when the weather is a bit more consistently warm...and the taillight LED diffuser delete is ON hold simply because 07-08 base tails are already so damn seXXXy.

The a-specs look great with ASM. I was thinking about the same mod on the tail lights, but agree with you that they already look great! Only one thing I would recommend are spacers to help make your wheels flush with the fender, but that's a preference thing. I knew the mod bug would get you, it gets all of us. Thanks for sharing.

Here ya go. Body colored sPlashguards installed. Also painted the calipers a metallic gunmetal Sigh. So whats next? Hmmm aspec kit eh?
Gunmetal calipers. I didn't spend too much time on these but will touch up later in summer.
