I am boycotting Cardomain.com

Every now and then I'll browse through Cardomain.com and check out TL's and every time I do I get dissapointed. I've seen some real nice TL's on this site with custom work done, nice wheels, body kit, new lights, engine mods, suspension mods etc with 3 star ratings and then I came across this eye sore with a 5 STAR RATING?!? I have officially visited cardomain.com for the last time.

that car was posted on here before... the wheels are 19" and aren't bad looking if you slam the car...

That TL was posted on Acurazine before, are you going to boycott Acurazine now? Honestly I don't usually browse the cars on cardomain, but like anywhere there are some good and some bad. People have posted ugly cars on Acurazine as well. Anyways I like using cardomain as a personal website for my car, to keep track of the mods, put up pictures, etc.

I'm not mad about the car getting posted on the site..my original post was about ugly cars getting overall 5 star ratings on Cardomain which I think is a little generous.

I mean it's not cardomain that rates them, it's the losers that are obsessed with it and rate people 5's and leave them a comment to rate them back because they lack self confidence

I have my car on cardomain.com and I like it. The cars posted on there are a little more "radical" than what I've seen on this site, to say the least, but oh well.

I don't like the three spoke wheels at all, but I don't have to drive it or look at it

OP, you need to check how many viewers have been to that specific CarDomain. Just because there's 5 stars, doesn't mean 100% of the people that visited all voted 5 stars. Most people don't even vote either, they just look at the page and call it a day. When you come across a sh!tty looking car, most people don't take a second look and who knows how many views it has. It pretty much determines everything. If you went to a page that has over 100,000 views, opposed to lets say 500-1000, then you'll have MORE opinions and MORE votes, which will make the average to about 3-4 stars, regardless of how clean, etc.

One of the highest rated 2G CLs on cardomain has a double wing. It pretty much shot down the credibility of that site for me.

I get no love for my car on that site. It's just too damn conservative I guess.

I guess if one doesn't like the car that they come across while browsing Car Domain, they can always sign in and give the car a 1 star rating.

I gave up on Cardomain a few years ago.

I have kept my '97 TL a real sleeper, even the stock wheels. All the mods are in the engine bay (an additional 40 hp dyno tested), stereo etc.

Of course, that resulted in morons giving me one star or maybe two, the comments were basically something along the lines of this:

'Yo dawg, I ain't hatin' or nothin' but yo gotz to put some 22s on that whip son. It be crying for REAL mods. Its not sittin' fresh.'

IMO ratings mean absolutely NOTHING on CarDomain.. i actually find better and cleaner cars as i go to the further back pages.. and a lot of the cars with 5 star ratings have like 1 random, ugly mod and thats it!

these two types of car modders in this world....

1) less-informed (like the above posted car)

2) enthusiasts

I usually chuckle at the less-informed, ghetto modders... but i never call them out, or talk trash to their face... its their car, and if they like it.. so be it...

but it still looks like crap IMO... better off stock

What makes a person less of an enthusiast b/c they might do something different? They are still "enthused"! So those putting ridiculous staggered setups on FWD are less-informed? Or are they actually informed and doing something ridiculous?

We can't pick and chose "enthusiasts" and we can't pick and chose wrong. An enthusiast is an enthusiast and wrong is wrong.
