Hi Guys!
Hi Everyone!
I bought an '05 TL last week, 6MT w/ navi. The previous owner installed '07 Type S rims and the A-spec lip kit and suspension. He also put a Type-S emblem on.
I got this after I totaled my '05 civic on a deer, so this is a big upgrade.
I've been lurking around here for the past week, getting some ideas and info about it. I removed all of the underhood plastic and the sunroof visor, just because I didn't like them. The car is a bit too quiet, I may remove the intake resonator or buy a CAI to put on, I'm open to input on that. I'm also looking into removing the slave cylinder check valve, the clutch on this thing just feels weird.
Here she is, hopefully I can learn more here!

agreed. if you want a Type S, buy a Type S! Those who fake them are terrible people who should be stoned to death
otherwise, it's a very nice car! how many miles?

I most likely will remove the Type-S emblem, unless the paint looks bad underneath. I kinda already wanted to, so 2 more opinions mean I'm going to
It has 154,000 but it has been babied. The clutch/flywheel, brakes, and fluids were replaced at 150k. The previous guy kept every receipt for the car, so I feel confident that it should be reliable for a while
And plus, if something goes bad, it seems like things aren't too expensive to replace, and I've spent a good bit of time working on Hondas, so I should be able to figure it out

Welcome and congrats also.
You'll love the car after you remove the clutch check valve.
Put the underhood plastic back on.
Remove the Type S emblem.
IMHO, don't waste $$$ on a CAI, just remove the intake resonator.
Do a Stage 3 exhaust mod-not very expensive and you can actually hear the engine afterwards.
I hear you on the sunroof visor, windscreen, whatever, I don't like the looks of them either

a couple other items to consider looking at to see what shape they are in is:
1. Compliance bushings
2. engine/transmission mounts

Thanks for the input guys! I'll be sure to check on the bushings and mounts. It's good to hear that some of you like the feel of the clutch after removing the check valve, I'm getting used to it but it's one of the very few things I don't like about the car so far. Yay, more projects to do

Congrats and welcome to AcuraZine.
Looks like the car has the front and sides ASPEC lip kit but not the rear.
Agreed with others on removing the S emblem.

welcome!
leave the type-s badge and just tell people you liked the styling of the 04-06 better and converted, just don't show the interior or under the hood
