Quoting an old post. What exactly are these lights? Base 04-06, blacked out, black bar, and...? Is the nightshades just put on the backside of the amber diffuser? Or is the chrome behind night shaded?

zkw are lenses that make a crisp clean cut with your projector HID bulbs.

Thanks!

I originally had type 2's for the front, but ended up liking the type 1's a bit more. I plan on modding the mirror signals to match the front lights ( a light LED glow with the parking lights then orange with turn signal is on ) so, it worked. The rears are cheap lights I had in an old car and need to swap out for better ones. I'll be swapping them out to match soon enough

Here's a daylight pic of the rear. I should have had JNC mod these too!

Oh and BTW, to those that will engage in doing this yourselves. The metal plate holding the ballast you see my socket wrench attached to is a huge pain the ass to remove. Have some kind of screw driver tool that you can get into tight places with. Also, when removing the back cover from the headlights, you will need to remove a torx screw. Have that ready also. I took like 5 hours to do all this..

It is much easier to remove/install the headlight assembly with the pliable metal piece holding the ballast(leave the metal piece attached to the assembly) by removing the two bolts attached to the block-just remove the windshield wiper reseviour first to get a clear shot at the two bolts.

headlights look good, I would have removed the amber part though. It is easier to just loosen the washer bottle or resonator (if you still have one) to get the bottom two bolts out, and to have a little room to get the headlight in and out with that bracket still on there. A flex headed 10mm ratchet wrench works wonders getting in there too.

All that information woulda been wonderful before i started. Like the previous gentleman said, trial by fire. I thought about removing that whole metal shield but I just didn't.. I was scared to move the washer fluid reservoir and mess something up.

I thought about nightshading the amber but I wanted to keep a stock look to it. JNC nailed it.

Your lights look great, IDK, theres something about the full amber diffuser that I like. I chose to keep mine in also after having my headlights color matched CBP.

Man, after going through all of these pages I just can't decide what combo to go with. My car is NBP, and I definitely want to have the blacked out look, but not too much.

I know I want to do:
Blacked our V2 (can't decide if to go with glossy black or matte)
ZKWR Lens upgrade
85122+ bulb upgrade

I need held deciding on:
CF inlay
Whether to black out or chrome the chrome strip
Whether to black out the light bezel also

I don't want it to be too black and want it to have a little contrast I think. What are your guys suggestions that have done it?

^ i am currently waiting on my lights from JnC, but i would recommend the CF inlays. they look clean on NBP. and as far as painting the strip, i would. again, it looks really sharp.

Make sure to post up pics installed when you get them back.

I've gone through any page, but may have missed it, does anyone have pictures of the bezel painted black also and installed on the car? I can't decide if it will look cool, or if you kind of need that accent to not make it too dark.

no one's updated this thread in a while. I might as well. I installed these over the weekend. JnC modded base to look like the Type-S lights. installed the grille and chrome bars as well.

side note: does anyone have any issues adjusting their beams once they've reinstalled a set of headlights. I guess mine are slightly off a bit and its impossible to get the phillips in there to turn the teeth :/
