Frosty's Icebox of Ingenuity [WDP Build Thread]

Damn OP. great job for such a young kid, you've got a knack! I got my WDP Type S just recently too and have been on the fence about A Spec kit and wheels. Also that gloss black roof and plastidip grill, you're doing all the hard work for me! I can simply look at your entire thread and picture how my car will be, keep up the good work!

On the road again!
Well, I had a really thorough and organized review of the new XLR8 motor mounts and transmission mounts typed out for you guys. I clicked preview, and my session had expired, so I lost everything I'm not doing that all again, so this is gonna be a very condensed version
First, here's some pictures from a car show I went to a couple weeks ago with my friends. Got my first trophy! (6th place out of 10 cars. I'll take it)
OK now... After much thought and consideration, I decided to take on the challenge of replacing all the motor mounts and tranny mounts myself. I ran into a couple snags which delayed the process (stripped bolt holt on the engine), but in the end, everything worked out great and I saved a lot of money. The front and side mounts were completely destroyed (totally separated). The rear was OK. The top tranny mount was bad, and one of the lower ones was totally separated. The other lower one was OK.
My first impressions: BRAND NEW CAR. The ride quality has improved dramatically. It's so smooth over bumps now, I can't even believe it. Also, it feels like it takes off so much faster. I absolutely love it. Yes, there are vibrations at idle. I honestly don't even care about them based on all of the other benefits I'm getting. Plus, they'll break in a little over time. All in all, no regrets here whatsoever. It is amazing.
So my car was under construction for two weeks (yes, I know that's a long time). I just like to take my time with stuff. Plus, I still go to school and work. In those two weeks I also got a tear in my seat fixed that's been there since I bought it, and finished my Poor Man's CAI. I don't think I mentioned this in the thread yet, but a few weeks ago, I got the stage 3 mod done to my stock exhaust. The combination of that + the Poor Man's CAI sounds incredible, and that's what I was going for (not hp). I love it!
Feels sooooo good to be driving my car again!

Thanks a lot, Farrukh. You aren't kidding either! It's a completely different car. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the custom headlights and taillights were 2 of the best mods I've ever done. They totally changed the look but still kept kept that OEM-feel. You did an amazing job with them

One of them is a lighter color than the rest. Currently it's the rear wheel on the driver side. I didn't notice it until after I bought them, but I got a sick deal anyways. I have full intentions to get all 4 wheels powdercoated soon. That's probably one of the last major projects I have planned for the car ( I say that now ).

Thank you!
Sorry dudes. Facebook is just so quick and simple
Behold...
Powder Coated 18x8.5" Aspec Wheels - Black Grey
I'll post some outside pictures soon. I haven't even seen them myself in natural light yet! Also haven't decided what I want to do with the center caps yet. I don't think it looks bad being black in the middle, so I may just paint them gloss black to compliment the lugs.
--------
In other (less exciting) news, I replaced all the burned out bulbs in my dash:
"Whoah, what's going on here?"
"Oh you know, just changing a light bulb real quick."

Frosty, love what you've done with your car! I've read through the entire thread recently, and admire all the tasteful mods you've done. Your thread is the one I pay the most attention to because I'm pursuing a similar style myself. I'm actually waiting on supplies to tackle the vinyl roof and custom headlights on my own before I go back to school!
For the shop's second go at the roof, do you know if they had to remove the side trims to complete the job? Also, is there a way I can see pictures of the vinyl near the sunroof area? I think I can imagine how it looks like, but want to confirm with my eyes before I get the balls to go about it. TIA if you can!

Thanks!
I paid $380 which included mounting and balancing the tires. I'm really happy with how they turned out. The only thing that irritated me was the fact that my powdercoater didn't tape off around the center hole where the wheel and hub make contact. So I literally couldn't put my wheels on when I got them home because of the added powder thickness. I had to sand down around the hole and then they went right on. Didn't take long with my Dremel tool, but still.
Still deciding what to do with the center caps. Black with a white A-logo might be cool if I can figure out how to remove the A and get it back on right. I can't remember how it's connected in the back.

Tell me about it. As sad as this is, I haven't even driven the car since getting the wheels put on. Have yet to even see them in natural lighting!!!
Sooo, you guys know how I said the wheels were the last big mod? Wellll, that didn't last long As of right now, I'm totally redoing my sound system setup. My last system wasn't terrible, but I always knew it could be a lot better (both in terms of sound as well as looks). It's gonna be really sweet this time around.
She's been under construction/in hibernation for about 6 weeks as I do a little bit on it here and there when I get time.
I'll post some progress pics.
