I had 20% on my windshield, when I bought the lease out I had too bring my tl for allstate too take pics. My insurance agent, said that there was no problems with the mods on the car........even the windshield. Matter of fact I was the first with the tinted windshield and I rock it for 4yrs on my tl. If you have a bootlegg insurance Co, then they might give you a problem pay out.

3rd Generation TL

Hi, I know this may be a stupid question but I was wondering where people gets the front lip for their 3rd generation TL. Tons of people say RonJon but they only have pictures of it and I want to buy it.

Dude, use the search feature. Also, what does that have to do with windshield tint??

When getting the windshield tint what do you guys do with the inspection sticker? Do the tint cut around it or is it remove n place in a clear pouch in front of the windshield?

is this true for the other windows too? if they are tinted darker then state legal limits can they say they will not cover an accident?

From a person whos had limo tints 5% all round and even in the front on all my cars its easy to get away with... All you have to do is either find someone that can falsify a work ticket saying that you had the tints removed or take a pic of another acura with your plates on it.... Down in miami i used to get pulled over all the time and since the courthouse was around the block from my job it wasnt a big deal to go to court (gets me outa work for a bit)
The only problem was that if you ride around heated.... it will get you pulled over and searched... other than that just take pics of your car w.o tints and just show the judge when you go to court

Does anybody have any night-time pics (from the inside) of their tinted windshield. I've been thinking about doing this for a while I'm just concerned with the night-time visibility.

wow how did I not think of that? got pulled over twice for speeding ticket so cop also gave me tints twice, at least I know now. so as long as you show the judge a picture of the car without tints its fine? they dont ask to actually see the car? what if I get a ticket for tints again after that? do I say that I got tints put back on?

Ive literally gotten over 30+ tickets for tints.... theyve NEVER asked to see my car... Id just say i put them back on... especially down here in miami its gets hot as F*%K.... and for driving at night with tints if darker than 5%, if their is no lights in your area you gota roll down your windows to back up..... and be careful turning left and right you will not see ppl walking on the street...

here's a picture of my current windshield tint, that was never meant to be posted. it is true that your visibility is reduced, but for me...it presents no problems; at least none that i can't work around.

18% all around (non-metallic) and 40% front; 35% seems like a bit too much for me, but that's just my taste

Looks cool. But sounds like a cop magnet. Let alone the potential insurance issues. Not worth it, IMHO. YMMV.

i PM'ed ifharse and he said its just a prescription doctor note. he used an eye doctor

its worth a try but im pretty sure if the cop is a total dick he can still give u a ticket.

i wonder if the other guy who claims he has a permit did the same thing

i am thinking about getting 1 from the dermatologist and saying i sensitive skin due to treatments or some shit

A reasonable concern, but after having a tinted windshield for over a year I can tell you that it is not a safety concern. The only issue I've ever had w/dark windows is backing up at night which is solved w/a backup camera.

Here's a side view:

I will try to snap some pics next time I leave the house at night. I should clarify that when I say it is not a safety concern I'm not responsible if something goes wrong b/c I think in most states its probably illegal. Still one of my best mods.

technically its a safety feature...keeps the windshield from shattering if you get into a wreck!

I'd go with 50% if you were to do anything. I don't get the point of windshield tint though. If you don't want people to see you, wear a bag over your head.
