First Real Mod

Well here it is. I had my friend cover my engine panels with carbon fiber. This was done by a process called Water Dipping. You can see his other work here http://www.campbellcustomcoatings.com/index.php. My next project is a Kenwood Navi double din install. Also does anyone have the link to the HU wiring diagram for this I know I saw it once before, but cannot find it now.

Looks great. I don't know if I'd call it "first real mod"... just popping off/on panels and not even a weight savings. But it looks great.

I like that look, its to messy under there without the covers.

We wont get started on the minimal weight loss but taking them off...

I like the OP's look.
but for me and my car, I just like looking at the bare metal machine. *cue tim the tool man taylors grunt.

its also easier to work on your car. you dont have to spend .5 mins taking all the covers off.

looks good, it reminds me of Di-Noc though. will it withstand the engine heat? from the farther away shot it is barely noticeable.

I would have cleaned up the intake manifold while the cover was off. Now you have a clean engine covers with a manifold that needs polished to its stock look.

Interesting! I think I would want something that's more noticeable, but hey, subtle isn't a bad thing

It actually looks alot better in person. I went with a semi-gloss so it looked more stock. I also didn't want it to be glossy and look fake in the engine. I am getting the other cover and lettering done soon. Don't know what yet. Thinking of cleaning it up with a silver finish and blue lettering. Opinions/Recommendations welcome. Thanks for all the feedback.

I know its sounds expensive, but when you see the work and time the shop puts into it its well worth it. As for some of the other questions it is heat resistant and he guaranteed his work. He also did some wheels that are going through their second winter with no signs of wear.
