John...don't take this the wrong way, but you got great meat.
Super bowl...was super proud of the fact that I didn't overdo the food or drink last night. Even got to work with 3 minutes to spare...at 7am!

Got it here:
http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/fo...o-Wings-388429
There are lots of variations of that recipe, but that one looked like the easiest/quickest. My wife said they were the best wings she'd ever had.

Swift hide-away plate install...done. Independent 3k HID fogs...done. PICS:
Hidden:
Not hidden:
About 1/2" of the bracket extends beyond my A-Spec lip when the plate is hidden, but it's not horribly noticeable. Install was simple.
Lamin-X overlays:
Illuminate!
As you can see, the fitment of the fog overlays isn't spot-on. If the overall diameter was another 1/4" larger, they would fit much better. You can't really tell once everything is put back together though. Since the 3k HID's are pretty blue when they're warming up, the fogs are a neat shade of green with the overlays on. Once they're warmed up, they look pure yellow in the housings. Mission accomplished...
Proper pics coming later...
Question for you HID fog guys...did you remove the little metal shield that surrounds the bulbs inside the fog housings? I left them in...not sure if it makes a difference.

Leave the shield on, it helps with glare.
Dude...you had to take your bumper off to install the overlays?!?
On a side note, aside from losing bolts in the mulch, that looks like a really serene place to work on a car.
Hideaway plate is great...is it an actuator that pops it back up or you have to manually move it back into place? If it's manual...wouldn't it be too late if you got pulled over for it? Or do cops allow you to show that the plate is there?

It was actually a nice morning to be outside for Feb in NY. Won't be able to park my car back there much longer...we'll be building an addition in the spring and the new section of our house will occupy that entire area.
The plate frame is not the motorized one. I know there's a good chance I'll rip the damn thing off on a curb or my driveway, so I went for the manual version. I'll leave the plate up for my daily commutes. For meets/photoshoots I'll hide it.

I actually HAD my fogs on to come on with parking lights but since they are HID's I didn't want to have to remember to turn them on and off so I wired them to my lows as the trigger. Looking great, John...only thing missing looks like some 20MM spacers on the rear
J
About the hideaway plate, I got you...sorry, I'm from Florida, TOTALLY ignorant! Thought it was something you could install with bumper on. My friends here got the flip a plate...for the toll cameras and red light cameras...lol. Dirtbags...
Loving your car.

Dude...rode around with probably -1.2 rear camber, tein ss almost all the way down, 225's on 9" rim and had 900 pound of coworkers in the car at lunch today and NO RUBBING! Rolled fenders is a must...

Yes sir, they are independent in the sense I can turn them on and off with the switch, but my trigger for them to work is my low beam rather than constant 12v or maybe the parking lights. That way I don't have to remember to turn them off and on so they don't blink with my parking lights...I guess the alternative would have been for me to use a 12V source as the trigger to be able to turn them on with NO lights on. Hmmm....that would actually be an easy feat. Wonder why I never thought of that.

^^^ so you cant have the fogs on without the low beam ?
why dont you wire the module inside to fuse #32 which is Ignition, so the minute you turn off the car, they will go off....
thats how i have it....wired to ignition and switch....the fogs turn off when i turn the car off (incase I forget to turn the switch off)

I tapped into the wiper source to trigger my figs, which is essentially the same as using the ignition. The fogs go on and off with the key OR fog switch.

That's a good idea...that's actually what I had to tap into for my DRL's anyway.
The only downside to that is I don't like having to remember to turn them on/off when i DO have my lows on...I like to turn on my headlights and know my fogs are on too.
Can't have it all, huh?!/

Just wire them to the wiper source and leave the fog switch in the ON position all the time..?

Been busy lately...thought I'd add a mini-update. Spent the weekend before V-Day with the wifey in NYC, just as "Lin-sanity" started to heat up. My last name is Linn, so went on a hunt for a couple Jeremy Lin jerseys. Also wanted to visit the new Apple store in Grand Central...crazy place.
Pics:
Indian beer...mmmm:
Grand Hyatt for the night:
Got back home and then had to fly to NC for a quick work trip. I LOVE getting BBQ in Lexington...this stuff is the real deal:
I love being on the road and eating in random places. Found a Mexican restaurant in Lenoir, NC that had ribs on their Monday night special...took a chance and ordered it and they were pretty close to the best ribs I'd ever had:
Testing the panorama app on my iPhone on the way home:
Got back home to a nice package (thanks Joerockt):
Also ordered the mirror mount. As soon as that comes in I'll hard wire it in. Also got the concealed display. Any V1 owners know if there's a way if you can have the concealed display AND the V1 display working at the same time? I'd like to run the concealed display just so I can have quick access to the mute button, but I want the V1's display to be visible as well since it'll be much easier to see.
Another notable:
