ebelp's Progress Thread (WDP Hotness) New Wheel Update 5/29/15
As most progress threads start...I finally have enough done to my TL to justify a thread. A "real" photoshoot hasn't been done yet, but I have some snapshots that I can share.
Sold my STi back in October to fund the TL purchase. I LOVED my STi, but with 3 kids, it was getting really small really quick. Losing AWD was a concern since I live in upstate NY, but I only have a 5 mile commute to work on flat roads, and my wife's car has AWD, so it wasn't a huge deal. Here are some shots of my beloved:
Bought my 2008 TL-S in late November 2010 with 43k on the clock. Bought it with tint and the A-Spec kit, which was a good start. First pic I took of my TL on the way home from the dealership:
Still all stock:
First purchase, Neuspeed Supercup Kit (thanks to Excelerate). I went with this setup because i wanted the ability to adjust the dampening of the shocks, but I didn't want to spend $1,000+ for a fully adjustable coilover setup. I also didn't want to tuck rim, so even going with a cheaper coilover like the Basics or the F&F's wasn't interesting to me.
Next purchase, full LED conversion from V-LEDs (6k white). One of my favorite mods so far. No night shots of these yet, but you guys know what they look like.
Winter shot:
Well mid-February 2011 rolled around and I couldn't stand looking at my suspension all new and boxed up any longer. I watched the forecast and waited for the first day that was in the 30's and not snowing and took the day off work. There was still a few inches of ice coating everything, and I did the install in my driveway, so it caused some delays. I did the install myself with hand tools. Went pretty smooth, just time consuming. Pics:
Had to chisel away the ice to plant the jack stands firmly on the ground (FML):
Before shots:
One day after:
I set my Konis on the lowest perch, full soft for the break in period. I'm 110% satisfied with this comfort and ride height.
Next, I attempted to put in some Nokya 2500k yellow DRL bulbs. This was a nightmare. I spent over an hour trying to get the new bulbs to seat correctly in the headlight housings, but I could not get them in. I twisted one a bit too much and snapped the bulb right off its base and chunks of the bulb flew into my housing...f*ck.
I ended up deciding to go DRL-less by pulling the fuse. Should've done that from the beginning...haha
Oh well, when it gets warmer out, I'll be cracking open the headlights to install these anyway:
Philips 85122+ capsules:
ZKW-R lenses (thanks TRS):
Still haven't decided if I want to remove the amber reflector. It's subtle on the Type-S and not too ugly.
Next purchase, OEM window visors (thanks AckTL05). I normally don't like this accessory on cars (including most TL's), but for some reason they look really good on WDP TL's.
Most recent photos:
I can't tell if the springs have settled at all...don't care, still looks good to me.
More to come when the weather gets nicer!

Nice ride ebelp. It's nice to see some non-winter pictures.

Still can't decide if I want to remove the amber reflector and black out the side reflectors. The only thing that's holding me back is how the parking lights/blinkers will look when there's no chrome reflector behind them. I haven't seen too many pictures of other TL's with that setup. What do you guys think?

awesome progress! I also lived in NY (rockland county) and had an STI. COBB stage 2, but had sold it while im in school here in socal. While i miss the subaru, i can just just sick back and look at my wdp sexiness of a car for hours. I feel like the cars really dialed in! I found the car in south jersey in immaculate condition with only 15 k miles! Go figure! (sorry for long dragged out post. i have to write 5 before i can start getting PMs )

Started modding again this weekend. Special thanks to Chris (spcslyusarmy) for giving me some pointers. He and I both have experience modding STi headlights, but the TL headlights are a totally different ballgame.
Cleared and blacked out (used lens tint spray), ZKW-R lens swap and Philips 85122+ bulb upgrade:
Sorry for the awful quality pictures. Night shots coming soon...

Definitely some more color with this bulb/lens combo, and the beam pattern is so much more wide and crisp it's amazing. I'm not quite satisfied with my cutoff though. It needs to be tweaked.
