Early Winter In Upstate NY...

Trying to keep my seasonal threads going, following up the autumn thread I made a couple months ago. Today was the first day of any real accumulation of snow, which is unheard of in our area this time of the year. Typically, we would already have at least 1-2 feet of snow, but it's been consistently in the 40's almost every day. We're supposed to get a bunch more snow this weekend, so I might not be driving the TL for a little while.

I probably oversharpened these a bit, but I wanted to make sure the snowflakes were more visible in each shot.

Bullshit you sharpened too much! These pictures look phenomenal!

The WDP looks amazing in the snow. Keep the pictures comin'!

Also, links to high-res? These are desktop worthy.

Tripod? I'd be shaking too much to shoot those by hand.

haha editing for me is still a pain because I'm running a non-retina display compatible version of PS on my laptop, so the images look softer on my display than they actually are, so I have to be careful to compensate that by over sharpening. Which ones do you want high-res versions of?

These were all hand-held. It was pretty bright outside with all the snow, so the shutter speed was pretty quick. Most were shot at 1/500" or faster.

Go staggered or go 18x9.75+20 all around. The concavity of the 9.75" can't be denied. Makes the 8.75" look weak.

My fenders are rolled and slightly pulled from my last wheeles so I should be able to run the 9.75s without a problem. But besides that your car looks amazing

Thanks! I highly recommend the 9.75+20 spec for the TL in case you haven't noticed haha

Wow, awesome shots John! 1 & 2 are my favorites, #2 especially. That would be the background of my laptop if my wife wouldn't get pissed, lol. Eff it, I'm doing it anyway.

AND I just noticed you got that damn dealer license plate bracket off the rear! NICE!

Thanks, yeah that rear plate frame had to be cut off...that was such a pain in the ass.

It has to be said, your winter setup is better than almost everyone else's summer setup.

OK, so you got more balls than me! Slightest hint of snow in KC yesterday ( I think 2") and I was out there this morning changing the wheels over so that I could make use of my winter tires....

I wonder if I can rock my winter tires down to Houston during New Years....
