Di-Noced '04 Key Fob
So I was cleaning out my book shelves in the office the other day and ran across two small pieces of dinoc from a long time ago. And my key fobs are looking like **** lately so I figured, why not!
This is my first run. And it has been a while since I worked with it so I forgot a couple key things. Also, I had to use a bs hair dryer instead of a heat gun. Which makes ALL the difference when working with this stuff imho.
Laying it down. Yes, the film was dirty here and there.

Half wrapped...slicing the insides of corners makes it a lot easier. It didn't matter though as I trimmed the edge as perfectly as I could. I didn't want buttons sticking.

Both halfs ready for final heating and pressing. At this point I had to decide if I wanted to cut out the circle for the A logo on the back. I did.

Ready for paint!

Finished product after heavy clear coating. And yes, I left the section that a ring goes through pretty untouched. I didn't want to run the film in there as I figured it would really get torn up.

A couple of things learned and remembered.
1) Keep as much of this film on for as long as you can. Especially with corners and such. If you can heat it and have something to tug on, you will stretch all of the wrinkles away. I forgot that and now the edges have a few little wrinkles.
2) I was slightly intoxicated last night when I clear coated it and I forgot that if you put too much on, you loose the CF look. On the other hand, I wanted a lot so it would hold up. This is completely up to you.
3) The Acura logo badge thing on the back has a good angle on it to cut so you won't see gray like on mine. Or, if you do this and aren't intoxicated, take a sharpie pen and just color the very small areas showing gray.
Anyways, it's not perfect but it's way better looking then the almost 8 year old fobs were before!

Nice one. Add this to the list of mods that are okay to perform while intoxicated. Looks way better without the clearcoat on it IMO.

If you put a really thin layer on it it has the shine plus the cf look. I went trigger happy though. I can always redo it it when I find more dinoc laying around. Lol
