Had my car repainted awhile ago and never found time to share it but I just dropped the car off to have it detailed overnight.. got the aspec installed recently too
The color is Starfire Pearl, I don't know how it looks next to a WDP car yet, havent found a chance to park next to one for a nice comparison but hopefully soon! maybe i can find a local member or something...

The new paint job looks great. Love that color.

Looks good. But why did you have it re-painted? It's an 07 right? Or did you fool me.

 

It ran me just shy of 5k, it was done by my friend's cousin who owns his own bodyshop.

 

Looks great! What color was it before? Its rare to see someone that does a paintjob correctly and by the price you paid it shows you paid for quality! Love the color!

nice color but 5k spending on that, especially if the car didn't need to be painted is useless IMO. I would have spent that money on mods (wheels, drop...)

 

It's a 2007! My car was ASM

You can't see it but the worst damage was on the doors and hood :\

me and my friends went to a big rave here and they decided to take my car since...it's the only auto in the crew when we were leaving back to the car, it was like someone slapped me in the face when i saw that there was a long scratch on my trunk, ran around the car and saw that there was more marks but only on the driver side! i was so furious with my friends because they made me take my car. insurance took care of it but by the time the estimate came, it was already more than half of what it'll cost me to get a new paint job, the agent basically told me that it was my check and take it to any shop i want so I threw in some extra cash and here it is. i was also bummed out because i spent an entire day claybarring/waxing the car the week before and the silver paint was basically brand new again and smooooth...hard work wasted

 

I did the same in high scool, i had a kid key my Civic and MDX so i just took the money and repainted them. Worked out better for me as i was a painter at a body shop part time so i got a check for 6500.00 for the mdx and it cost me ~3500.00 in paint! Good choice on color... silver is so horrible!

agreed....that white looks sexy.....i had my ASM bumpers resprayed for damages and the back looks off at different angles

if the car was messed up then it's all good. Never mind my comment before, didn't know what the case was. That white looks great, it's so...WHITE haha I would probably do the same in your case.

Thanks, i fell in love with the lexus white when i was shopping around for my gf's lil brother's car at the dealership! I initially wanted to keep the color but all the bodyshops that i took it to said since only one side of the car is going to be repainted, it would look off...basically near the middle and i REALLY did not want it, so i threw in my own money to get a completely new one! I really do like ASM, it goes very well with the head/tail lights and i think it makes the car look very aggressive sometimes..

I'll try to find a WDP TL sometimes that is very clean to get a good comparison..im saving for coils now but with christmas i might need a few months X_X

I've been considering switching out my TL-S headlights to get the older all red ones...i think it might look alot better that way..watcha guys think

Silver is super easy to keep clean, but MAN that looks great. Lexus has another color that is a more pearly that I LOVE too!
Anyway, don't blame you for changing it up. What did it run you?...and how much did insurance pay vs. you? Did you do jams and engine bay?

 

I'm going to have to check this color out in person. There's a Lexus dealership next to my Acura dealership. Damn, next thing you know, they'll think I'm there to trade in my Type S....

Lexus colors are funky (in a good way). I saw a white (I assume the same shade of white your TL has been painted) GS this evening, and it was crazy. It looked white, pink, blue, gray, etc under the cloudy sky. Just beautiful to be honest.

I wanted the SFP color too! You're paint came out good, but doesn't show the true nature of that color. In the right light, you can see the pearly bluish look to it. Like the picture below:

Not "better", per se...but the reds do look nice when I see them sometimes...good thing about those is you can pick up a set for CHEAP! Everyone is selling the reds...
