Custom steering wheel wrap complete! RedlineGoods review!
Well, I always disliked my steering wheel from day one. It does not feel like it belongs in the TL It's paper thin , and I hate how cheap the material feels. So ASAP I went around looking for alternatives. I tried the type-s wheel. How disappointed I was when I realized its literally the same wheel as the base but with a added cheesy logo on the bottom and paddle shifters. I looked at the special CF wheel that Acura sells for $400. This special CF wheel was also the same exact size and on top of that, Acura uses fake CF for the "CF" part. I gave up for a bit.
Recently I bought my sister a BMW performance steering wheel for her car, and I realized how awesome a thick steering wheel really is and I needed one ASAP. So once again I went looking. One of our former vendors RedlineGoods wraps interior pieces for our cars. I immediately emailed them and the owner Jack replied right away. I explained to him that I wanted to get my wheel rewrapped and he gave me the huge catalogue of options they offer. They offer ANYTHING you can think of and are 100% willing to work with you if you have something "unique" in mind. If you can imagine it, they will make it.
I bought a spare wheel from eBay and had it sent over to Jack. Jack's company is in Poland so shipping took 4 days and the return shipping only took 3 days. Jack had finished the work in about a week (FAST) and emailed me back and forth about the progress. No surprises or games everything was straightforward. The service was professional and fast.
In the end I settled with extra thick padding, black alcantara on the sides, black nappa leather on the top and bottom and went with a blue stripe on the top and blue stitching to complete the wrap.
While it did cost a bit, its definitely worth it. You can price out everything at http://redlinegoods.com/ordering.php. Most of the time they have some awesome specials and discounts going on so the best way to get the BEST price is to contact Jack himself at info@redlinegoods.com.

It feels so AWSOME . I can't wait to mount it on.

Looks good, man...I don't like the blue stitching, but that's my preference. I feel similarly about it...I recently drove my wife's SRX Caddy and the top is a hard wood looking feel and it's nice, I kinda wish we had a hard portion on top of the wheel too.
How much, more or less, did it end up setting you back?

It looks good. Anyone know if it's possible to get a 4G steering wheel into a 3G? The one thing I like about the 4G TL is that it has a beefier steering wheel.

To each their own.
It cost me about the same price as a new OEM CF wheel from Acura would cost. Maybe a bit more because I was impatient and bought my second wheel at a "buy it now" price. I was looking just now and you can buy an OEM wheel for $40-$70 shipping included.

That's a steal, especially if you don't need an airbag. How much did you pay for the work on the wheel if you don't mind sharing.

Around $300-$350 for all the labor. This also includes shipping the wheel and getting it back. The labor is pretty "intense" I was looking at the videos and it takes 3-4 hours to do this and its done by hand. I rather pay the professional.

Sounds about right, hand wrapping leather on a wheel is no joke.

Is it me or is it loose(wrinkles) in some places? Perhaps the pictures aren't doing it justice. I think the concept is good I am a huge fan of jptl's alcantara steering wheel and having seen that one in person it looks fantastic.
Edit: jptl's wheel for those who do not know what I am referring to

Yea same reaction I have to the 4G TL. Ugliest car EVER. Doesn't deserve to be an Acura, it needs to stand next to the Pontiac Aztek.
That wheel was great. I just don't like perforated leather lol.
I think its the pictures, don't see the wrinkles in real life.
Yeah dude that would be BADASS! You should also get the silver pieces covered in real CF!
