oh man that diffuser is cool

did you have a noticeable difference with the stainless brake lines? I've been thinking about upgrading but unsure if it's absolutely necessary.

when you brake, do you get a little spongy feel?

with the rubber brake lines, overtime, when you hit the brake the rubber lines will swell hence giving the pedal a slightly spongy feel....you dont necessarily NEED SS lines, but it sure is a good upgrade....I have changed mine and have been happy with them for a while

no not so spongy actually, I feel like my brakes work pretty damn good

I would like to do this upgrade though, as I know it will only make the brake feel better. On a scale of 1-10 how hard is it for the weekend DIYer?

depends on the rust...

its actually pretty simple...I would say at about 4...

you just have to remove the 10mm bolts holding the brake line in place, remove the line (2 bolts, one at the main and one behind the caliper), put the new one in and done....

the reason I put it at 4 is because you also have to bleed your brakes after you change the lines...

The diffuser is cool until you get pissed off at traffic and after getting onto an oddly empty highway run 130mph for 10 miles resulting in it flying off. I was able to stop and pick it up before anyone could get hurt. Anyone who has been on i275 in ohio at 5pm knows this is a RARE sight to see. You can see the other lane that has to endour the traffic.

Has anyone else noticed how stable this car is at high speed? Holy crap. ( no i don't drive like this always, it's a very rare event but I was incredibly pissed after sitting in traffic for 2 hours and only going 5 miles )

In reguards to the brakes, no, not necessarely but I've always felt the 3G TL has had very squishy brakes and it drove me nuts! So after getting the 4 piston rear, adding these to the front greatly helped out with brake pedal feel, but then again I'm VERY anal about little stuff like that.

^ This, the best option for SS lines is definatly going to be XLR8's, they have a coating over them which you want, or else your SS lines can become your worst nightmare if they fail. Normal SS lines with no coating over the steel braiding can fail as early as up to a year. Do some research on them before buying. With that said, failure is SO rare.

ooh you remind me of the days when the car was new to me....was always at 100+ on the highway and maxxed out at 135mph and was scared to push more (04-06 were limited to 152mph and the 07-08 to 131mph, if my memory serves me right)....

the does feel very very stable at high speeds

No problem! They should be about $150, they are easy to install just grab some brake fluid and you'll go good to go!

Something like that, once i get hondata that should be removed. I rarely do 100+ I put the camera down and powered up to the 130 but it didn't last long, was worried about cops.

whats more impressive is the only thing to have failed on the car was a rear caliper....it was seized....so other than maintenance, I have spent a full $100 on repairs

Thanks for the love all, I love almost every second I spend with this car, there are some pretty big annoyences though.

1. Stock sound system has NO power, I am trying to find a solution that let's me keep my stock system. Don't wanna fool with that much.

2. Rattles, Holy S!8T you might as well have a tin can and put pennies in it, these cars rattle like it's there job. My glovebox has gotten so bad I kicked it repeatidly and broke the thing. $400 after shipping and tax from acurapartsnow I have a new one that doesn't rattle for now. GRRRRR.

Other than that, I love this car still. Here are some things that's going to be happening soon.

Install this new bad boy from RedlineGoods

Napa leather and silver stitching, direct match. I went with the medium thickness foam and will be having someone install this, I don't trust myself.

Recently this occured at Chipotle in Colerain.

I found it. It's the RonJon Legacy 7. 18". Do you all think these would look good on my car? I've always been an OEM rim whore, the waffles look great but need more complexity and size to stand out. I contacted them about custom 18" Waffes that pop out more but it would cost about $5K.

They're not my cup of tea but I've never seen them in person either, and I think they could look good, silver on your KBP. Have someone photoshop you a pic before you buy.

I've never been a big fan of the OEM waffles except on a TSX.

The TL is stable at high speed thanks partial to that heavy steering wheel that most driver hate and the sport tune suspension near perfect between performance and comfort.

Bleh, I like the waffles but I despise of silver rims, they look much too boring for me. I prefer a good dark gray or gloss black.

Agreed, this is why i'm very hesitant to do anything to the suspension, even though the body roll is killing this thing.

I hear ya. I've come all the way around myself (taste wise, not on this car lol)...started with silver rims, then shiny chrome, then black, then dark grey, now back to silver...but honestly, it all depends on your taste and the color of the car to begin with. As long as you like it that's what matters. A nice graphite color will look killer on that KBP too.

Nice AR. Sold my ACR few months ago.

You had an ACR! Agh! I wish I could buy one of those, such a sleek, sexy gun. Can't swallow the price tag though.

Mini Update

Went down to my buddies lake house at Lake Cumborland we didn't go out on the water but we did get to ride quads around, shoot stuff, and finish work on my leather armrest. A trip to the local Lowes for some 3M Super 77 and some strong GooGone and we started the process, a heads up for anyone doing this. Wear disposable gloves, the old glue and decomposed foam is sticky and falls apart. I used goo gone anywhere I would be gluing the leather down unit it was bare plastic. Another note... Take...Your...Time... It takes 15-30 minutes for the glue to become extremely tacky like You want and need it to be, I tried it first and failed miserably on one end because of this, we ripped on the 4 wheelers for half and hour came back, pushed it down and there it stayed. This 3M stuff works absolute wonders. Here are some pictures of the final thing.

You can see it matches almost perfectly, the OEM stitching is slightly more gray but I think this has to do with the dirt that they have on them.

Here I attempted to show how close of a match it is to my new OEM seat leather. Stitching is almost dead on (I used napa leather form them and silver stitching)

That's about all I've got, theres two more things I have to show, 1 saw this picture and found my next Acura....

That's the sexiest thing I've ever seen.

If none of you have ever been on KY-80 in kentucky I advise you going, I took this way home and my god was it a fun road. I took a picture of the only cars I saw on the road, was able to run 100+ almost the entire way home.

That's what I'm seeing, and why not add a type-s emblem? I feel the color would justify it, I would have custom 2-tone leather with the silver in the middle, color contrasted stitching everywhere, and find a way to get that type-s steering wheel emblem in the new one.

I think the license plate of "TYPE S LOL" would kill 2 birds with one stone

That aside, one of the best looking 4G's I've ever seen

I miss it. That thing rocked. You could break it down by hand, no tools, all the way down to the firing bolt in under a minute, and put it all back together in under a minute as well, no tools.

Great job on the arm rest cover btw, looks good! I gotta get off my ass and do mine, the leather is just collecting dust under my bed.

My guess he relentlessly traded in his G3 TypeS. He's from Mass, wonder if he's from the metro boston area. I'll have to put some feelers out see if I can locate that G4. Sweet ride
