Hey I had a quick question. Im getting angel eyes installed on my 2004 TL from light wurkz, however, the 2004 headlights only have 1 projector on each headlight. I called the guy today at Light Wurkz and he told me that I have to buy a brand new set up TL-S headlights so they can open it up and take the housing or shroud (the second projector housing) from it and put it on my current headlight.

http://www.lightwurkz.com/new/projec...063UMNITZA.jpg

I definetly think thats a waste of money to spend $800 on 2 new headlights just to open it up and take the housing out. Does anyone know where I could just get that housing or second projector housing so I dont have to buy brand new headlights? If anyone is selling theirs, please let me know, I'll definetly buy them off!

Yup custom made. I sell it here on the forum too. Just go to the Black market under Vendor section. Here is the link.

I wouldn't do angel eyes. That's just me. Kinda waste of money.

I gotta side with darky and fizz and say that I wouldn't necessarily do it. (I kinda think havin 2 angel-eye rings and the unique squarish fogs is kinda cool)....but you don't like angel-eyes either? Oh well, to each his own. I guess we have different opinions of where to put the money.

Regardless your car is totally different than anyone else's as always and I love it. You know I've always been a fan of your mods. Thumbs up to u ua6spec.

Thanks for the compliment. Don't get me wrong. It's not like I dont like angel eyes but what if something wrong and one doesn't work and it will be a pain in the ass to take it out and troubleshoot it. I thought about doing angel eyes too but I'm just afraid one will not work or wires are not connected perfectly.

Does anyone know if the new 2007 double projector headlights would fit on a 2004 TL? I read above that the housing is different. Is it difficult to change the bulb housing? Sorry Im not too good with cars, so I just wanted to make sure. Does switching to the 2007 style lights require any major cutting or soldering or major restructuring? Reason why I want the 2007 lights is because I was gonna bite the bullet, and purchase brand new 07 headlights and have them shipped to Light Wurkz to have the Umnitza angel eyes installed on them and have it shipped back. Another plus of doing that is my car wouldnt be out of commission for a few weeks. Plus I was thinking I could recover some of my money back by selling my 04 headlights. If someone can confirm with me if they will fit, and if any adjustments need to be made I would really appreciate it! Thanks guys!

It is the same. 2007 and up TL dont have double projector. ONLY different are that the daytime running lights on the 07 uses 9005 rather than 9006 which are on the 04-06 TL. Signal lights are also different. 04-06 uses 7440 style light bulb. So the socket are smaller to put into the 07 and up TL headlamp but it will still fit. To make the long story short, it is DIRECT FIT.

Sorry one more question, but how do I need to change the socket? Or do I just buy the bulb that fits into the new 07 socket? Also, are the wiring harnesses the same as well? Im sorry to ask so many questions but since Im about to spend $800 on lights I just wanted to double check everything. Thanks again for your help!

You can buy a 07 socket and put it onto your 04-06TL. But it won't be a problem. It's just the hole on the 07 headlamp are a little bigger. It's not like it will fall off. If you are pretty anal about it just buy a new 07 socket. Just in case, bring your 04-06 socket to compare it when you go to the dealer. Wiring is all the same except the daytime running light. You might need to convert to the 9005 socket. I didn't do that because I'm not using that on my car. I ran those wiring onto my bumper foglight.

Oh I see what ya mean. Yeah I wasnt really planning on using the daytime running lights anyways either. I dont have bottom fog lights on my 04 TL, so I guess I wouldnt have to worry about that either. So even though the hole is a little bigger, the bulb still stays in there pretty well without wobbling around too much?

If was going to change the socket to have a tighter fit, would I have to cut the 04 socket out and solder the new 07 socket on? or do they have clips on them to snap them off?

By the way, I love having fog lights on the bottom! It makes the car look complete! Did you install those fog lights or are they the stock ones from when you bought the car?

Wow, I want to put those fog lights on!! Does anyone know of a good shop to get custom work done in the DC/Maryland/Northern VA area? I ordered 07 TL-S headlights, Im having them shipped to Light Wurkz to have the angel eyes installed with the carbon fiber inlays on the sides. However once I get my new headlights shipped back to me, I dont know where to take it to have it installed.

Its not that hard? I have to find out how to take off the headlights. I opened up the hood to my car, and I got intimidated by it. But as for the fog lights, I think I'll definetly have to get those professionaly done so it looks right.

hm.. realized if you wanna black out TL-S headlights, all you have to do is paint that tiny yellow portion at the tip black--assuming you want to leave the turn signal housing clear as it comes.

No I just wanna leave everything as is. Just take out the amber piece and thats it. I just retain the lens as is.
