CF trim peices

hey guys i had some left over material from the CF sheet i bought. i made some window button trim pieces. i haven't i haven't put them on as of yet, they're just placed on top. im kinda on the fence about them. since they dont match the fake CF trim already there. what do you guys think. ya or nay? these are real CF sheets not cheap vinyl stickers.

I like them man...they would go well with my CF themed TL How are you going to affix them? Double back tape would be a little thick and they wouldn't sit very flush. Also, what did you cut the CF with so it didn't fray?

That looks really good, and I think since they're not right next to each other it shouldn't look too different. I say go for it

go look for sticky roll on tape. They look similar to the white out tape that roll. Something like this http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/20...showimage.html

the sheet comes with a super thin 3M adhesive sheet. it goes on the CF piece first then you peel the backing off and place it where you want. so it sits flush.
it's really thin you can cut it with a good pair of scissors, the inner slots i used a dremil to rough cut it then i used small files to clean them up.

I'm going to be honest and say I personally don't like the way it looks in the inside. Underneath the hood it all flows very well. But for some odd reason it doesn't look right in the inside. But don't get me wrong definately looks different and great creativity but I am going to go against what everyone else has said about it I don't like it. But props as always for coming up with different things to do.

Your engine bay looks amazing... but I'm not a huge fan of the other trim piece you made for the door buttons. But hey, you can't make everyone happy!

I think engine bay looks great! It does look off inside because the real CF doesnt match the fake CF. Still nice though

are you sure thats real carbon fibre...it looks fake too, maybe its just the camera that makes it look fake....but for me when you see real carbon fibre there really is no doubt...where did you get the sheet, how much was it, and how easy was it to cut and work with, because real carbon fibre isnt that easy to work with.....

yes, this is the real shit %100 real carbon fiber. the fiber on my custom wrapped engine cover and the fiber on my CF braille battery are identical to this so yea, it's real!

jptl...go for it bro'. I've got a carbon fiber kit in my interior and really love it. I liked the carbon fiber interior kit for the same reason you are doing yours...the fake stuff that comes with the car looks like crap. The stuff you got looks much better than what's in the car.

I posted pictures of my interior and got all sorts of replys here on AcuraZine. But to be honest, I didn't care if anyone else likes it or not-I DO, and that's all that should matter to you too.

By the way, thanks for the link...I'm considering doing my that to my engine compartment too. How did you do your main engine compartment lid so the carbon fiber would lay down? Did you heat it up with a hair dryer to get it to mold into place?

great work with the engine bay but it really looks different compared to the oem carbon fiber trim on the inside in the pictures. looks a lot shinier. kinda doesn't match imo you know?
