CaliMurse Slow WDP progress thread

Hey Guys,

Name is Jon, from Socal. Just wanted to have a thread to show my progress on my goal of making a clean tl. Got it at 57k miles, its and 06 wdp w/ tan interior. I am not a mechanic, have probably below basic skills in that area, but I am pretty good at being able to do the jobs from the DIYs. Here are some pics of my car from the day I bought it to today. Minor changes that weren't expensive.

First some pics of my car stock, nothing done

Then I put the red vinyl lettering in the front bumper

then painted emblems red, some people like, some people hate. I like it. also debadged

I am going to plastidip the middle part of the grill so the A will look better.

Future mods
Full Aspec lip kit (ordering on the 25th of this month)
No time fram for the following probably one thing per month or so.

-Accord fog retro w/projectors
-Zkw projector lens
-Tein SS coilovers
-Tint
-Isimple or double din
-color match the silver part of the grill with the DIY grill mod
-type s spoiler
-rims

Pretty much the basics I want to get down. Any mods you think that should be done lmk I am open to ideas!

also sorry for the crappy pics just using my girls DSLR, but I plan on learning how to use it better. Will get some better pics when I get the kit on because my brother is wayyy better with a cam than I am.

Looks good, man...the red would flow MUCH better if you white plasti dip the grill or have it painted WDP to match...

Also, rather than straight up red, look into the anodized red made by duplicolor...went down this path 3 years ago...

dude seriously what I was thinking, I want to color match the grill WDP, and I was thinking about the anodized! Saw that after I made the first one so I just wanted to keep them on for a bit.

Also I have a plan for the grill that I dont know if anyone has done. It will take a stupid amount of time but I want to get those bottom type s grill or even the regular grill cut and put back together to make a big square with only the honeycomb material cut out to fit the grill perfect and have that instead of the small mesh openings. I think that would look super nice but would probably take a couple days to do. One of my plans.

Nicee.. Yeah, I feel like when I repaint with the anodized paint, paint match the grill and make that custom full honeycomb grill the red will set the front and back off. I like the red A on the wheels when I painted my rims on my Prelude I did the red H with the white rims and they looked nice. Also I was thinking of a full reupholster on the seats maybe a red/black theme like the s2k seats and full black conversion of everything else.

well, to be entirely honest, i quickly outgrew the look...but, if it had been ALL black and red, it would have fit a LOT better...filling in the letters in the bumper, I've just never liked.

if you do decide that, send me a pm. I totaled my tl, but have the black rear seats just sitting in my garage.

car looks good. I agree do the anodized stuff. any color looks better with more depth in my mind.

I also think you should put a fresh coat of black plastidip on your mudflaps, so they look new and fancy. I never got around to it on mine, and not that many people keep them on here.

Yes, I cannot wait for the finished product. I know it will look 100x better.

might try that actually before I put the aspec on. I actually think it would look nice if I color matched them WDP. Also about the seats I might actually hit you up in the near future.

I might be wrong, but I don't think you can use mud guards with the aspec lip kit.

Yeah you are probably right. I meant I would have them painted so when/if I wanted to just change the look or use them for a shoot I can have them since I get the hook up on paint (nursing school buddies dad owns a body shop), and there is probably a way a person could retro the guards to be on the same time. I actually wonder how that would look.

dont know if i'm a fan of the red. IMO if you cleared the headlights and had some more red accents throughout the car (rims, etc.) and plasti-dipped the grille it would look a lot better

Yeup, I agree. My plan is to clear them out and add the ZKW lens. Also with the white grill trim that is color matched and a custom honeycomb grill with the a in the middle. I know the Red doesn't flow in the front right now but I might get the grill painted and made next week and if not next week then next month.

for the guards, how low you planning to go, might not be worth it if you slam as you'll likely lose em!

Honestly I don't know right now, that is just an idea that I have. Also I am going to lower my car but I don't know if I am going to slam it. My old lude was pretty low and whenever someone else drove my car like my brother it would come back with breaks and scratches in the lip, plus I just don't want to have to go perpendicular to enter a slope lol since it is my DD. I would have to see how the Aspec goes on to see if I can even make it happen.

Got my lip kit yesterday couldn't get to it until 11pm. First time taking the bumper off so it took me about 3 hours to get the front and back on. Going to get the the sides in tomorrow because my brother is borrowing my car. Probably going to plasti dip the front grill this week

Thanks man! I actually didn't mind the time because I made sure it was done right and it was my first time removing the bumpers so I can can do it in 3 mins next time I have to take them off! So the plasti dip grill is going to be a breeze.

pretty sweet video. you roll around with your fog bulbs on all the time at night? I think it looks more aggressive with just the hid headlights on no fogs
