Bye Bye Acura :(

so the time has come for me to say Bye Bye Acura, at least for now. I know some day I will come back to by another Honda/Acura but for now it is bye bye.

Here is my story:

Back in 2007 I bought my first real expensive (by this I mean over 30K) Acura. A 2005 Acura TL White. I had this car for the next 4 years and drove it from 30,000km to 160,000kms.

When I first got her November 8, 2007.

First set of wheels

In the Snow

Lowered on springs (bad choice in winter rims)

New shoes on!

ATLP Quads and Type-S Lip

Comptech SuperCharger Installed

Ass shot

Rolling shot

Black Vinyl Roof and CDM Headlights Installed. Parked beside Moms RDX

New Wheels - VOLK TE37 F-19x8.5 Plus 22 R-19x9.5 Plus 22

That is what she looked like before I sold her in June of 2011.

Mods were:

2005 Acura TL

- Type S Tail lights and rear side markers
- OEM Window Visors.
-
Chinese Domestic Market (CDM) headlights

- Flat Black Vinyl roof
- ATLP V2 QUAD Cat-Back with custom Magnaflow tips
- Comptech Supercharger,

- HKS Hi-Flow Intake,
- Tein SS
- Type S Brembo Brakes

I sold her last year because I wanted to get something different and I had a really good friend that loved the car and was looking to by something already lightly modded.

So I bought this

2007 Acura RL

I had some really big plans for this car but ended up only keeping it for 2 weeks. I realized I really liked the 3G TL and just wanted a new version of it.

So I got this

2007 Acura TL Type-S

6 Speed

ATLP Quads

ATLP J-Pipe

RV6 Pre Cat Deletes

Sitting Pretty

Stored for the winter beside sisters TSX

New Shoes - Volk TE37 F-19x9.5 Plus 22 R-19x9.5 Plus 7

One of the Last Cruises

Washing Her

I Miss Her

So I would still be drive my Type-S if this didn't happen

So I know it doesn't look that bad but it was. I was driving straight when a 2013 Ford F150 turned left out of a parking lot and slammed right into me. Entire front corner was crushed in and the transmission was having issues getting into gear.

Insurance was kind enough to give me this POS rental. I actually had the rental car for 5 weeks before the Insurance Company settled with me.

So after I got the money I had to figure out what I wanted to get. Originally I went and looked at the Honda/Acura family to see what I could replace my TL with. To be honest nothing really jumped out at me. I couldn't fall in love with any of the current model cars. That is when I decided to look at what else was out there.

A couple weeks later I ended up with this.......

2008 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SuperCharged Limited Edition. I have loved the Range Rover Sport for years and finally I got one. I did a lot of research and looked at all the possible models and thats when I found this one. 1 of 250 made in 2008 in North America and 1 of 15 in Canada. This is different than the regular Range Rover Sport as it has the special edition orange leather interior, flush front bumper, flush rear bumper, square exhaust tips and bigger roof spoiler.

So far I love the new car. I do miss my TL a lot but I am having fun getting to know the new truck.

Here are some pics from today.

Slowly I will start modding it lightly, but for now I can't wait until winter.

I want to say Thank You to Acurazine. You have been good to me and taught me a lot. Thanks also to everyone who bought something from me or sold me something.

Bye Bye For Now Acura Family.

Post some interior shots of the Rover! I've always loved those too. The maintenance/repair costs scare me though because you always hear people complain about the reliability. Any truth to that?

Your TL and TL-S was amazing! I'm a sucker for TE's.

Sorry to see you leave the 3G TL behind.

Hope you have better luck with the Range man. I don't mean to sound negative, but get used to driving loaner vehicles. Ex GF's aunt had one and not a month went by when it wasn't at the dealership getting something fixed.

Don't be a stranger, stop by and show us what you plan to do with your Range

Sorry to see that happen to your TL-S. Both TL's you owned were beautiful. Good luck with the Range Rover, it looks really nice even in stock form.
