Busy weekend, detail and USA spec install day (lots of pictures!)

Ordered the USA spec PA15 HON2 from Pacific Stereo for 119.00, but got dinged a nice UPS brokerage fee so it cost me just over 210.00 CAD.

Install was real easy IMO. Didn't break anything at all and everything went very smoothly.

I haven't posted a thread in a while so this one is long... enjoy. Oh and you'll notice my family has 3 Acuras how's that for being loyal to the brand?

Taking off the metal trim I used a dull oversize flathead screwdriver covered in a microfibre cloth.

There are only clips on this side... just pull and disconnect the wiring

On the right side of the steering column there are some screws

These tabs on the side piece are underneath... loosen the centre console armrest before pulling these tabs out... once the console (2 screws under the rubber inside the console) is loose its easy.

I had a hard time removing this piece because the upper dash is so soft... and I didn't want to damage anything so I just went slow and apply some pressure, the clips will release

Behind the Canadian TL's stereo... NO XM plug is there, makes plugging the USA spec plug easier

I had to get my sister to plug this in for me, my hands are too big

Great success! I just left the Sat Radio plug these in case I ever found a use for it.

Ran the cables thru here... iPod cable + RCA audio cable.
See those two screws... those were the ones I was talking about earlier... remove those first and the whole console becomes loose... make for running your wires easy!

I found a piece of the subframe or something and used double sided tape to stick the USA spec unit. Worked great, its still accessible and totally out of the way!

LOOK, TEXT ON SCREEN!

NOW ONTO THE DETAIL SECTION................

And my older brothers 08 Type-S, we had a detail day

Were supposed to detail my moms RL this weekend now too...

And the final product!

I never got around to detailing the engine yet... Ill do that soon

AND MY OTHER NEW'er TOY! 2002 CBR F4i
This is why my TL modding slowed down... bikes are expensive

THANKS FOR LOOKING!!

whatd you do to your trim around your radio/nav/gauges? is it a trim kit or did you custom paint it? looks REALLY good.

I know the H&R sport + A-Spec shock combo doesn't bring the front down as much as I'd hoped. My plan is to use Koni Yellows when I can afford it.

Its the trim kit. The dealer had it installed when I bought the car new 3 years ago. It's on everything, every door, the roof button panel, around the gauges, the vents and the stereo. I love it. Thanks

Nice man I like how the USA spec displays the playlist under category. The peripheral only says IPOD right there.

First - is that a new version of the USA Spec which posts the text on the screen?

Second - can you post a link to this thread in my thread about USA Spec installs...or just copy and past the install portion of this thread over there...I think it would be a good addition. Here's my thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/i-160-usa-spec-install-633080/

Third - nicely done. The the car looks fantastic.
