Blacked Out Emblems

Blacked Out Emblems
Hey guys my name's James, and I just recently joined Azine. After many hours of sitting around looking at a crapload of different posts, I figured out I could do something really simple to my car while making her look dope. 06_TL posted a thread on how to Plasti dip the emblems for his TL, so I thought I had to try it out. After 4 coats, and about two hours of total drying time, the emblems came out perfectly. I got a couple pictures with me now, but once its nice again outside, and my car is washed, I'll upload some better pics. I got some pics I took of her yesterday, just to give you a sample of what she looks like. I took off the front plate today, and still haven't decided if I want to dip the "Acura" that is underneath where the plate was. What do you guys think about that? Anyway here some photos:
And here's a quick shot of the Plasti dip process:
This is the taping, I used 06_Tl's idea
This is after the third or fourth coat, I can't remember
And here is the final outcome
So yeah I'm more than pleased with the results, how about you guys? I'm gunna have some new pics by the weekend of the front without the plate, and better pics of the emblems in the back. So far so good. =) And my pics will be a little smaller next time, I just don't feel like going back to change them now.

Yeah I was just going do the rims while I wait to save up to get an nice set of rims. Ive seen a lot of people who seriously overuse it, these are luxury cars that should look boss not gaudy. I think it works perfect and the emblems, and thats all I really want it for, and the rims, but that won't be permanant. I'm still trying to figure out a set of rims to get. You guys got any ideas?

Thanks man =) I just recently received an extra day a week off from work, and realized I can occupy my time on here, and make adjustments to my car while at it. I really want to learn as much as I can so that I can maintain my TL, and keep her for long as possible, considering the fact that she is my first car and I love her.

Thanks James-I appreciate that. I'm incredibly happy with the Type S right now. It drives fantastic, looks pretty darn good....it's right where I want it to be.

Oh yeah I don't doubt it at all, even with no mods on the Type S they're still sexy cars. And TL's in general are amazing, you have any idea's for what I could do with the front grill? I feel like blacking it out is just too much, and not original.

Yeup its amazing! if you mess up the emblems or don't like them you can just peel it right off. And with enough coats it can peel away in one piece from the paint, and stick to the emblems. Of course you have to peel slowly but there is no way that you can mess this up. For the small parts, a toothpick peels away the inside of the words and emblem, making this a super awesome and easy fixup. =)

Awesome thanks! I guess I'll be de-badging and hitting up the rear 'A' logo this weekend. Not to thread jack, but how many beers would you rate installing rear tail lights to be?
Excellent! Yours turned out great. I'm jumping on board with the plasti-dip craze lol

ahaha yeah I would have to agree with justn. And yeah I'm gunna try out my grill and front emblem tomorow, if I don''t like it I can just peel it off. I might try out the "Acura" thats underneath the front plate, just to get an idea of what it looks like. ill have some pictures up online.

Welcome to the forums man. I'm new too. Been lurking around for awhile, but never really started considering doing anything until recently, now I'm in love.
I know it was a week ago, but I did my grill on my 05 AM TL. Just did the A and the silver strips. Thought you might wanna see how it turned out in case you were still debating grill ideas.
looks better in person too. all I had back home with me was my iPhone.
