He said they were not gonna stock the Pearl Black emblems. I asked if i could get a decent order together would he oder them for us. He said if we prepay them they will Special order them for us.

I will be calling him to get the details on price and delivery time.

Is evetyone on this list still interested?

3) Jumpman45 - "A" front/back
4) Lokius - "A" front/back
5) dan.....k - "A" front/back

Can you ask for the price for the full set too (As, ACURA, TL). If it's reasonable, I'm in for a set.

i have a call into the chromer...i will let you know as soon as i know.
thanks

I will post any information I get, as soon as I get it.

If we can get a better price buying them together than it's all good.
If not we can go the other route of buying the emblems and sending them out to the chromer ourselves.

Might want to take Lokius off the list, unless he's putting these on before he gets rid of his TL (currently for sale).

ok for the pair!! front A and rear A it will be $126.27 +tax.
IT takes 10 days to get done.

So it's about $10.41 for Tax, then whatever the shipping is to your particular destination.

It is time to seperate the boys from the MEN.

I will be ordering mine in the next week or so.

If you want a pair CONFIRM now!

black Pearl Emblems

Front And Rear "a" Emblems

Price........................ $ 126.27 + tx.
should be about $10.41 @ 8.25%, not really sure about the tax rate.

I got another email from Stave at Weir Canyon:

No limit on the order. I will be off until Tuesday so if you need to get these going you can talk to my MANAGER JIM STREETER.
He knows about this deal...thanks again acura
parts.

It would probably be easier for each of us to call Weir Canyon Direct and order it.
This way you don't have to send your money to guy in Cali you don't even know.
And some of you can Charge it if need be.

I will call and tell Steve that those of us that are still interested will be calling him to place our order.
He can wait till he gets a few orders together then send them to get done.

Some Feeedback would be greatly appreciated!

I'm out in Chino Hills, CA.

To be honest I have never put one on before either.
But I'd be glad to give you hand. (No need to pay me.)

Maybe you can come down once I get mine, cuz i am gonna change out the front emblem too.

Maybe we can get Trance to give us some pointers on how he did his.

The rear emblem is pretty easy. I took some dental floss and kinda separated the emblem from the car just enough so I can get my fingers behind it and pull on it. You will notice that the rear emblem has two plastic guide pins. They dont lock the emblem in or anything, the only purpose they serve is to guide the emblem and keep it straight. Once you peel the emblem off it will leave a bit of glue residue. I just took some isopropyl (sp) alchohol to it and it came right off. Thats really the only time consuming part to the project. Once you get the glue off its as easy as sticking the new one on.

Now the front one I have not done yet, I will get with Ron and have him post the break down of the grill so you guys can see how it comes apart. I think this one is a little harder.

Yes...the front is WAY harder! I will get the schematic together for you. First thing they say is....remove front bumper assembly. BUT....you can access it from below and above without having to do this....it is just a very tight fit. I installed some emblems just this past Sunday night/Monday morning (black pearl).....both front and rear A's. To do the front...you basically have to remove 5 screws to remove the silver crossbar section (and take it in the house if it is cold) and change out the emblem. DO NOT REMOVE THE WHOLE BUMPER AS THEY SUGGEST unless you are really wanting to waste a lot of time...not necessary! There is five small (I seem to remember that they were 7mm) bolts to remove across the back side of the shiney cross bar on the front and two screws after you get the crossbar off that hold the emblem to it. It will only be the crossbar cover that comes off with the center emblem section....there is a backer underneath that does not come off that the screws run though. You will probably have to use a 1/4" ratchet with some various extensions....a universal would be handy too...I didnt have one in 1/4" so I had to do some fandangling to get em out with 3/8" ratchet with a reducer on it, which gave me just enough reach to get into it....mostly used a 1/4 drive though....just one that took a 3/8 for me to get to it right....a small extension was too much...but the reducer and the 1/4 socket provides just the right reach you will need...and this is just on one of em...the rest come out with 1/4 drive and socket alone) This takes a little more time than the back side...as Trancemission mentioned. I think it took me about 2 hours or so to accomplish...but I was working in the VERY cold and in a garage that has very little space.

Wish I would have payed more attention to the manual on the back-side....cause I removed the entire inside trim of the trunk-lid to find out that there was no clip on the back of that dang thing and it was just friction holding it there on the guide pins! It was just REALLY on there! As Trancemission mentions...heat and dental floss do the trick on the back side....and work from the bottom up as the bottom will pop out enough to get something under it to lift from there. All my emblems came off and could be reused....so they shouldnt bend on you or break.

Bottom line....front emblem.....five 7mm bolts across back center of cross bar to remove silver cross bar and two screws after that that hold emblem to center section. Thats it. Getting to them is the hard part! As I say.....from the top side and from below...you can get em all without bumper removal! My shop manual is at home.....but will get schematic for you if you feel you need it.

You have to remove the front bumper to get the grille off to get the emblem off. Click here for the scans.

ron is right, its easier to take apart the grill by removing the bumper. its possible to do it without taking the bumper off, but prepare to get your hand scratched badly. its a real tight fit and it hurts

Sorry about the mixup, but as soon as I posted about having to remove the bumper, I remembered that you don't have to so I deleted my post.

All you have to do is to remove the plastic cover under the hood above the grille, and then I think you can reach in and remove the two screws and remove the emblem. If I'm wrong, someone let me know please.
