Looks nice, but roof mounted racks and trunk mounted racks all scratch. They look nice, yes, but...This is unavoidable.

I actually have a hitch mounted rack. If I ever get around to taking pics, I'll make sure and post them!

I guess over time. I followed a customers car I put a thule rack system on for four years and never saw any evidence of scratches from where the feet attached to the roof.

If I was shooting up to tahoe every weekend and needed to carry a bunch of boards a roof rack would be the way to go for me

I would like to use a trailer hitch bike mount. If anyone has done it on a Gen3 TL with a SpecA kit and trunk lip spoiler please post details. FYI I've used Thule roof racks on other cars for years to carry bikes, windsurfers,Kayaks, I can say first hand they work good but are a pain to mount them and not damage the car and bigger pain to get the stuff mounted on the racks. Even hard to get roof racks to work with the sun roof. This may help others that like my idea

I DO!
Actually...this hit receiver was for my RSX, but I figured it's 3 bolts and some holes drilled so maybe it would fit the TL...and it did..worked like a charm.

Thank you for posting rockstar143. Do you have any closeup pics of your install. Like at the places the hitch mounts on the TL. Also pics of how it looks with out the bike rack on. I would like to hide the hitch receiver as much as possible when not in use with a possible cover of some sort if the rear SpecA kit needs to be cut to mount it. I have all ready made and still have my own Propeller Trailer Hitch Cover minus the LED I like in this one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShwoPCZb4ps
on other cars I have had and may do the same on this car if needed

Can open and get in your trunk with the bike/s mounted? LOL I think we have the same bikes http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes...el_ex/fuelex7/

Hey Joe...
Yeah, DEF a close match. It's actually a 2002 Gary Fisher Sugar 3 + disc. I recently put some love into it and upgraded to a marzocchi fork, 20mm thru axle, 31mm hussefelt handlebar and a self painted seatpost. Love this bike!

About the hitch...I'll grab some pics for you...I have access to the trunk as normal and no part of the bike, or rack touch the car at all. And you really don't see the hitch receiver when it's not on. Remember, I used my RSX one...
I DID have to remove the underside plastic piece obviously but did NOT have to cut the Aspec at all...

here it was on my rsx

About the slammage comment...THANK You, if you're referring to me. There's something very cool about a classy sleek car with something rugged mounted on it...just my opinion...kinda like Kim Kardashian wearing nothing but army boots and a camelbak.

Lol...also meaning in addition to your 3G? I wish I would have kept both but I only have a 1 car garage and really didn't have a need for a 2nd car. I miss that girl though...I really do.

This is getting to odd LOL and way off topic....I'm about to sell my RSX when I get a fair price for it for the same things you sold yours and think i will miss it when it's gone.

We're like soulmates...
lol.
Yeah...sold mine for 12K...not bad for an almost 4 year old car with 75K miles. But I put all but 12 of them on there and I knew that car like the back of my hand. The sound system sounded great in it and it was fun as heck to drive. BUT...once I got in the TL I coudln't wait to be rid of it because it was stiff as heck and noisy etc...it's like an ex...you hate her while you're with her and miss her once she's gone.

Did my pix and responses answer your original question? Or did you need closer up pictures? Lemme know.

Please post for better pics of how it looks from behind with out the bike rack. I'm not clear on your mention you had "to remove the underside plastic piece obviously but did NOT have to cut the Aspec at all" if you can detail that also. I don't have my Aspec kit installed yet. Nor have I even started to look for the hitch....but will have one on my car by the end of this spring to take the mountain bike, kayak, windsurfers,ATV to places to play with them....a couple at a time. I will use a roof rack with the trailer hitch to take more toys places at the same time. All eady have the roof rack (Thule) with all the needed kits to carry most of my toys minus the Gen3 TL fit kit.

this is exactly where it's suppose to be on the TL. Different cars will have different mounting points.

It's just the front lip. I think it still flows nicely with the rest of the car. I liked the stock lines of the rest of the body panels so I didn't mess with the sides and rear.

Here's another cellphone pic w/ my snowboards but you get the point

At the risk of sounding a little like a pervert at a hooters...
I like your rack...
Actually I like your bike too...Very nice.

Joe...sorry I flaked yesterday...I logged off and spent some quality time with the gf. She gets annoyed that I'm on this all the time. Lol. I'll try and grab some closeups today. If you look under your rear bumper you'll see the plastic undercarriage I'm talking about.
Yes, though...you can install the aspec and have the hitch receiver under it without cutting.

What I did was cut some of the undercarriage cover to allow the hitch receiver to fit without bending the cover. You can see it right underneath the base of the receiver under the "NATIONWIDE WARRANTY" sticker:

See...and I just removed the entire piece.

About it being cool...don't waste too much energy figuring that one out...it's what we like to call "subjective". Some do, some don't.

To each his own LOL I use to have a 88 CRX Si that I use a Thule rack system to carry a windsurfer with several sails for it and a kayak with paddle and a mountain bike on the roof all at the same time with the sun roof open LOL and use to cruise at 90mph and I thought that was the coolest.
