actually i took the whole thing out when i did the roof ..there is a great diy on here that i followed....the antenna was the hardest of all the things i did....

 

yea i think black is one of the only colors i like on silver...glad most people like it...as there are only a few that dont

I met a guy the other day who works at a vinyl shop who is in the process of covering his whole TL-S in flat black vinyl with carbonfiber inserts.

He might post it on this site one day

The back up lights follow the lines of the plate bezel and now it looks too rookie for my tastes.

The same can be said for the upper front grille trim piece.
Might look better with lower trim piece matte or none at all.
The interior surfaces of the grill look good matte though.
Keeps the theme flowing from front to rear.

 

have not finished the grille yet..its all getting matte black..glad you dont like the smaller reverse lights one less person who will have it...nothing rookie bout it

 

i wanna do the whole car so badly but dont have the time...plus not sure if i could handle the task

 

He told me it would be cheaper to just get the car painted insted of using vinyl but since he works at a shop he got a huge discount

 

really....but i'd rather have the choice to rip off some vinyl rather than paint it again back to original...hes lucky

 

Yes he is haha. His car looks really good. I thought it was painted until he informed me it was just vinyl.

Keep a look out for a thread of his car one of these days. He said he was going to sign up here and do it

Don't black it out. It needs at least a little contrast against the already black grille. So I'd either leave it like that or maybe a light gunmetal color. Never seen that done before.

+1 lol I still keep meaning to get around to doing the exhaust covers on the base bumper in matte.

I would also leave the emblem chrome.. I like the contrast, looks like my twinkie grill!

 

Now fill in ACURA on the bumper in matte!

 

You really helped me decide what Im gonna do with my grill, couldnt figure out what I wanted to do with the middle part, and didnt think anyone else was even thinking the same thing as I. thanks for being a guinea pig in a way =D hahaha

how much did you use for the roof. like square footage.

 

i bought a 58in X 96in so that way i would have extra....but a 58in X 48in is what you will need to do the roof...if i remember right...costs like 70 bucks for the 3m stuff

 

After looking at the crossbar more closely, did you cover that with one piece? If so, how? And you didn't even have to take the Acura emblem off?
