so im rolling along to work about 3 days ago and im on the freeway when i hit this %@&^% pothole. bent rim i could understand, flat tire i could understand. mind u im going around 70 and my tires on this rim are 245/35/20 so its not like im running a ridiculously thin tire or going at a rate of speed that should cause this. i heard a loud bang and my right front side starts wobbling like its a wagon wheel... and i start seeing shit fly past so i pull over and im absolutely floored....







the whole F'IN lip got torn off and left a 2 inch scratch on the top of my wheel well at this point im honestly relieved i came out of this ok because it could have been SOOO much worse.. MORAL OF THE STORY: DONT BUY SEVAS OR EVENT THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!!! now im left with some crappy rims tha i cant even replace or replace beacuse this piece of crap company went out of business. WOW just wanted to vent fellas....

moral to the story, be weary of 3 piece wheels. They are MORE fragile than 1 piece wheels

FYI... those wheels ARE NOT 3 PIECE.... they are one piece cast to LOOK like a 3 piece wheel... Those are the S55... I know cause I used to have a set a few years ago...

 

yeah the S-55 is only one piece and Sevas have a reputation for having wheels that will blow out at any time... glad you are okay tho

thank god you are ok.... the other horror stories, were the face, seperating from the barrel... that would have left your car really f*cked up when barrel and tire flew off, and the car fell on the face still bolted to your hubs, smashing everything up

 

Rota's are actually the MOST notorious for this... Sevas are #2

I think Rota is still in business because they make knockoffs at dirt cheap prices, and them subaru guys LOVE Rotas, plus they cater to whats popular, they got alot of aggressive sized wheels now.

Its SEVA's the one with the problem. not 3pc wheels in general. FYI 3pc wheels are alot stronger then 1 pc wheels. theres a reason why theyre so much more expensive then 1pc.
