The basics are non adjustable as far as I know. But honestly, the adjustable shocks aren't that important, ride height is the major factor for the rubbing issues. I've only changed my settings once, after I installed the units. It's great for those who like to do some weekend racing though, because with 16 levels of adjustment, you can go from soft as OEM all the way to rock hard. I have mine set on 5/16 and it rides pretty well considering how low it is.

DPEs are definetly custom, but Ronjon's are as custom as you can get. They are made specifically for your car and fitment in all areas, esp an important one, centerbore, is custom to your vehicle to prevent vibrations or fitment issues of any sort. Thats high quality right there.

Why is everyone who is a RJ supporter so hell bent on making sure that everyone knows their wheels are the best out there? I'm confused, I posted pics so that others can see what I've done. Never did I once say that RJ wheels were inferior (only stated the design was not my favorite), yet a few of you feel the need to compare every little aspect of the RJ wheel vs DPE? Please go back and read the topic and you'll see that NO ONE has said that RJ wheels are inferior, but for some reason a few of you keep trying to prove a point that was never brought up at all (the question of RJ's almighty superiority). I don't now if there is another agenda here, but if you guys need to continue this conversation, please start another thread "RJ vs. the world." If you have comments/questions regarding the wheels on hand (DPE's) whether they be good/bad (everyone has different opinions), feel free to post them here for everyone's enjoyment.

I don't want to get mixed up in whatever is going on here, but again, I like your wheels they look awesome on the car. I imagine they are going to be difficult to keep cleaned all the time. Are you planning on using any sort of wheel wax to protect them?

Nothing going on here, just some friendly banter back and forth... I'm pretty sure the wheels will be a pain in the ass to clean. I put a couple of coats of regular wax on the wheels before I put them on the car, but I've been looking at some wheel specific waxes as well. Anyone got recommendations on what works the best?

i like the dpe's, cadesigns you just need to take into consideration this forum is ronjon sponsored, and alot of the 3rd gen stuff is biased towards him, since he is the only aftermarket wheel/kit person in the market..

Lok,

Not to be a PITA here but RJ is a Paying seller here, it's not sponsored by him.. If it were he would be the one hosting the site.

ANYWHO.. I like the wheels man.. they looks sweet.. I like them a little better than the RJ or the HRE simply cause the RJ are a little more curved in the double spoke and I like minQUe straight as an arrow. Like the ones you have on there..

Not knocking anyone's QUALITY, just design.

Can you get them in Chrome by any chance?

Ryan

DPE's are 2 piece forged modular wheels. Offsets are 32 all the way around, but the front has a thicker mounting disc to ensure that it cleared the Brembos (have maybe 3-4 mm of clearance). That's why the lips are slightly staggered, little under 2" in the front and 2.25 in the rear.

Not trying to beat a dead horse but are you sure that the front wheel offset is also 32? You said earlier in this thread that the offsets are different.

Well, when we were originally measuring the offsets for the wheels, we had them speced out to 35mm in the front with the high disc and 25 mm in the rear. I later asked them to step back the aggressiveness of the offset to make sure that the car wouldn't rub. When I got the wheels back I was told that we went with 32mm all the way around but the front has a thicker mounting disc to ensure adequate clearance. From these figures and seeing how the wheels fit on the car, on an 8.5" wheel, you can easily run down to a +30mm with no problems. Probably even more on a automatic since they don't have the brembos. The rears can step down to +25mm with no problems on 8.5" wide.

I will get my TL is August. The DPE 20's come in 8.5" width but I'm going to go with the 19's instead. I believe the width will be 8.0" according to the DPE website. I want to be able to rotate my wheels to all four corners so I will keep all the wheels the same. I really like the R07 Variant S.

Yea, the R07 Variant S are a very nice design, my brother is getting them for his new SLK350 as we speak. Should be done in a couple of weeks. Well...if you're getting a 6spd, your gonna have to run a higher offset with a smaller lip if you wish to rotate your wheels. If an Auto, you should be able to run quite an aggressive offset with a <2.0" lip.

Honestly, I'm not sure. They don't really feel like plastic, but it is definitely a possiblity as I'm not an expert. Looks great on the wheel though.
