i did it myself.
i've been working with Dinoc for awhile on cars. It doesn't take off paint. However, taking it off frequently may take off your clearcoat.
thanks!
it did. Reason is because the roll is 4 feet wide. The roof takes 4feet by 6 feet going the length from front of hood to trunk. The hood and trunk had to go on from driver side to passenger side direction. The hood is 5 feet 2 inches roughly wide and barely under 4' at its length.
will take some further shots later and update for you folks.
looks better in person than in pics.

here's a mock up of the hood in black. I used Plastidip so i can get a rough idea of the 2 tone look before actually moving forward with the Dinoc. It came out really nice with PlastiDip and even better with Dinoc.

thanks!
thank you
can you clarify? Are you meaning to do the grill?
yea. A can costs only $6 and was an easy application. It peels off like elmers glue on your hand after it drys. Took me 3 minutes to peel if off.
here's another shot of the hood with plastidip
thank you

Personally, I would spray some clearcoat over the pieces to protect all the work that youve done. Sure, you wont be able to remove the dinoc if you want to, but i doubt you will have trouble selling off the items when you are done with them.

the way i read it, he was talking about the dinoc itself coming off, not the paint.

a lot of patience is required. When i first started working with this material. I went through a lot of sheets. Ripped alot because Dinoc is thicker than normal vinyl. It's tough to work with and mistakes can easily be made. Especially with a heat gun. If you ever try doing it yourself, i suggest working on it on a hot day in the sun. The material is much easier to work with but then again you'd still need to know what you're doing.

It looks like you did a good job of wrapping, but I don't like the overall look. I wrapped my friend's silver G35 in a manner similar to yours, and I quickly grew tired of the matte vinyl finish. It's also not nearly as durable as I thought it would be, the hood will be prone to nicks and scratches quite easily from everyday driving.
Good job though.

It's a matter of preference really. You can easily stretch the material 2 inches, you could probably stretch it at least 6 inches if you had to. The carbon weave pattern is going to get distorted in the process, so if you don't care then you'll be fine. If you're anal about things like that, then you're better off ordering a bigger piece and using the leftover on other little projects.

though it's only 2 inches, you will warp the lines and lastly you really need to have extra to wrap the material around the edges. Why? If stretch, when it gets hot, the material will pull back onto itself. You don't want to risk that. Best to have 4x5' 4" material.
